Hm, doesn't look very good. I hope the additional development time helps the game not be a complete failure.

I just wish tehy'd stop making Silent Hill games. It's all been down hill (pa-dum-pshhhh!) after 2 and once Team Silent stopped making them the games just turned out utterly shite. I just recently started playing Home Coming and really...it's not a silent hill game, it's a game made by people who are trying to copy Silent Hill and failing because they don't udnerstand what made the first games work.

"Urr, if we have pyramd head in there, that wil be epic right!? Derrrrr".

I wouldn't say it's been downhill after 2, more like 3... I managed to finish 4 though, got halfway through 5, and lasted even less in subsequent games. It's gotten to the point I'm just going to start skipping them until Konami gives it back to a Japanese team

It's been down hill fro 2. No doubt about it. That said, Silent Hill 3 is still a very good game, not just as insanely epic as 2. For me it's pretty much 2, 1, 3, the room and then the rest can fuck right off in order of awesome.

The game looks better in motion. That said, i don't care about any SH after part 4.

My favorite SH is the third one, I just love Heather :) But quality wise I can't decide which one is better the first one or the second one. The Room bored me to death, I uninstalled Homecoming after 1h play time. The PSP one was decent as a game, but not as a SH game and that last one with hiding mechanics was also quite good but again only ih you look at it as a spin off title. Western teams just can't manage to make a creepy game.

The problem here with this is, you cannot have crystal clear grime and still be convincing. It is too clean. I'm not even convinced it's cared about.

I hated shattered memories, but i liked homecoming, the generic enemies where a bit too typical 'silent hill' basically as megido said, throwing in a pyramid head just for the sake of it, but the bosses where not only linked to the protagonists psyche, they all looked cool as hell too. I enjoyed homecoming at about the same level i enjoyed the silent hill movie. It wasnt as character specific as SH123. But it was still silent hillish enough to be good. I think this will be similar.

The series HAS gone down hill since 3 tho. I think the overarching story between 1 and 3 are the best the series has seen, while 2 is easily the best stand alone title.

This does look pretty crappy. And image 9, the buildings in the background, wow.. N64 textures there. They aren't THAT far in the background to warrant not caring in the least about textures quality.

It does look really bad. Why is it so blurry? I t looks like there's no detail at all. Anyway, I agree they should stop making Silent Hill games, this parrot really is dead.

Yeah visuals are awful especially if you compare them to Alan Wake however if the game is as good as they used to be i wont complain a single bit on release.

There are too few screenshots here to get a good idea of the overall game level design. So far, I am impressed with these shots, but the lighting is what could be improved to offer better atmosphere and cinematics. Perhaps the levels are more urban than rural this time around. I will probably buy this.

Silent Hill Downpour 15min walkthrough

The world is very reminiscent of SH 2, and there seems to be much less combat. Watch out for that voice acting, though! lol

That looked good to me. Voice acting is as crappy as ever, but i almost consider it a staple of the genre.
