First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

It is obviously this week's main event and Gamersyde could not fail to propose a few Xbox 360 videos of Batman: Arkham City. Unfortunately, since we did not get our copy of the game soon enough, there will be no review once again. The first video shows the first playable sequence of the game but you have probably already seen it before as Rocksteady had released it during E3. The two other videos will allow you to discover the very first steps of the dark knight during what can clearly be called a very atmospheric introduction. Enjoy!

Love this one much more than the first one, why?
Open world, just like you see it in the movies.

You get to hover around the city, navigate a big city, use the grapple alot, be a pure dark hero scouting the area from above before you reign down on enemies and take them out.

I do wish they could have implemented like a flying scene, bike or a car scene, would be great.

The way I see it, this is like Infamous + Assassins Creed.

Batman controls very smoothly from hovering to landing to grapple zips, combat is great.

Like in Assassins Creed you hold a button to run and the character will do all the climbing and vaulting automatically and the open city is pretty much like Infamous (but much better IMO because you dont have to climb in slow paced to get somewhere).

Anyways, I love everything I am seeing here, all I need is Robin DLC to finish it off with.

I want Rocksteady's version of Robin, or else I wouldnt care at all.
If you seen the trailer of his gameplay then you know he looks awesome and his combat style is damn cool.

I don't think is a great idea. Bike/car scene would be quite clunky with UE3, pretty sure that's the reason Rocksteady didn't have one.

but at the end of the day he's still robin and he's still a challenge room only character (probably for the best)

I know, but I found the gameplay trailer of Robin be badass, but yet people still have that idea of Robin the 70s or the old garbage movies as Chris O Donell, which I do to.
But Rocksteady said they wanted to reboot Robin to their version to their game, he is more mysterious, more darker vibe and his combat skill would be very acrobatic and fluid.

I dont think engine wouldnt be the issue, but rather how they would implement the idea in the game instead.

I don't see how the engine would pose an issue. Gears handles its vehicular scenes just fine.

Hmm, i thought the worst parts in Gears 1 and 2 were, where you control vehicles. It's just fucking clunky.
I'm glad they get rid of them in 3.

@Seth

Dont blame the engine, blame the developers who cant make a good vehicle gameplay and controls, thats has nothing to do with the engine.

Have you even played Gears 3? as there is a vehicle section and it played just fine. The vehicles in Gears are clunky because the huge fracking tanks, if Rocksteady wanted to implement the batwing or bike/car i'm sure it would rock, maybe in Batman3 who knows.

Well the vehicle section in gears3 was on-rail thing - you only shoot. That's why works just fine. :P

The game looks amazing, and really fresh and impressive visually. It makes a better impression of UE3 to me than GoW3 witch seemed too much handtied to the mythos/ideas in terms of what they could pull-off from the engine and make it look totally different and new. it probably is still the better example of a UE3 game technically but it gets a little stale on the syle side.

wtf u taking bout? engine has nothing to do with a good bad gameplay segment.

who tf cares, it's properly done and in no way "clunky". so your point is moot... or you rather prefer a greatly animated "cutscene" with quick time event, if that is your view of being "not awful".

This. Wheelman was terrible. It controlled horribly. I'd say "clunky" would be a very fitting description tbh.
