GSY Video PC

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter ran a bit late yesterday but it was finally released on Steam durring the night and we can now propose two videos we quiclky captured this morning. We'll need more time to forge ourselves an opinion on the game, but the beginning is mesmerizing to say the least. The forest we wander in looks so real it feels as if you could actually get lost. More to come later, but don't be too impatient, I've been sick for a few days now and the end of the week has not made it any easier on me. Stay tuned!
Update: Added two videos.
Update 2: Added two new videos: Investigation and Events.

Come on people, you should be watching this! The game is gorgeous and very atmospheric. I am really impressed with what they've done, in terms of graphics (it's more or less open world) and gameplay mechanics. :)

Plus it will eventually be released on PS4, so there really is no reason not to take a few minutes to watch.

Man, this is short game, I dont want to watch videos this time before I play it. 13 minute video which was released before was enough for me.

This looks very promising both in terms of graphics and gameplay. You were not over selling it Driftwood!

hmm it looks ok BUT it sort of looked better in the videos that came out before release than what im seeing in these videos

it looks like it could get boring too
some of the details were a bit bad also like walking past trees with low branches when the person playing walked but turned the camera facing the low branch the branches where not 3d branches they were flat 2d lol

this should not be happening nowadays

his would be good for oculus too I bet it will get that support when ever they release it

... How they did this with Unreal Engine 3 is a riddle to me.
You're funny.

Their article on how they used photogrammetry to create realistic game graphics is a very interesting read.

Yes, I remember reading EuroGamer's article on the game and on photogrammetry, and reading the quotes from the developers even before the articles. Game looks really great.

After three hours I am enjoying the game though I'm afraid it will become kind of repetitive with time. I hope not. It doesn't give you any guidance about where to go or what to do but it is quite interesting so far.

Which video has the gameplay as in not just wandering around a forest?

I'll add two more which are more gameplay focused but the fourth one is. The thing is that you won't understand what's going on and why but that's on purpose. :)

I finished the game and I have to say that I really loved it. Quite short if you ask me (around 6-7 hours) and the portals puzzle was a nightmare but I recommend it. Also, you need to do all the stories if you want to see the real ending (which I liked a lot). Gameplay is repetitive and there is no help at all but it's part of its charm, I guess. Atmosphere and the beauty of the surroundings more than makes up for it.
And judging by the credits this was created by a team of around eight people which is really impressive.

By the way, I think it is quite unfair of me to say the game is short considering its price. Actually, 6 hours for 20 euros is a great price and far from short so forget I said that and buy this game, it's more than worth it.
