First 10 minutes Xbox 360

Big surprise this morning, Microsoft France sent us our copy of Forza Horizon. We didn't lose any time and rushed to prepare a bunch of videos for you guys, not without plugging in our Fanatec wheel. Enjoy!

I really cant see why one would NOT love this game (or prefer MW over this). Also, music turns out being not as bad as i imagined it to be. Sweet game !

Some people will play the demo, slide around like soap on butter, crash into walls five times, then run back to Need for Speed's on-rails gameplay. The average gamer doesn't even go into the options menu, let alone touch handling settings.

Personally, after i set the demo to simulation, no ABS and changed two deadzones, this game became my favorite racer of the generation - and that was just the demo!

Question about the final game - people are saying 24 hours in game are 45 minutes in real time? That means night lasts 15 minutes? That's reaaaaally short. I was hoping night alone lasted 40-45 minutes.

biggest issue in the vid's is the still so terrible replay camera's. rest of the game is quite sexy

How is it do drive with a proper wheel? Im thinking about buying a csr fanatec set for this and forza. But to be honest Ive never used a wheel this generation ( had one for PS2 ) and dont even know if it would end up being another peripheral that sits in the corner... so Im a bit afraid :P ( when forza 4 came out I had the same idea but I ended up "pussying" out.. lol

How would they have a F4-level replay camera in an open road game, pray-tell?

I changed options so it plays more like arcade racer - which I love. Could be true TDU suequel for me.

Played the demo with the CSR Elite and the CSP pedals and IMO it feels fantastic, a bit more arcade than FM4 but I like it much better than with a controller. Just a word of warning regarding fanatec, their products are top notch but they can be a bitch to get installed. Just had to send the CSP V2 back today because they wouldn't work properly. Spent hours installing drivers, firmware and they still wouldn't work. And to be frank, the customer support at fanatec is absolute rubbish.
But then again, once they work, you won't look back and especially for sim racers you will never want to play with a pad again.

But do you feel the bumps on the road and everything? Like can you stall a car when driving off? I dont really know how it feels to drive a wheel so its a bit of a gamble to buy one..

MrFred, I just bought the CRS with Pedals package (250.00 plus tax) I had no problems installing at least for the xbox. I was buying the wheel for FM4 primarily but was skeptical about how it would feel. Not so much the wheel but more with the game. I had been playing with the MS wheel. Anyway point is this wheel completely transformed the game into something entirely new, I couldn't believe the amount of feedback and resistance. Since then I picked up the shifter, that added a whole other dimension. So yes, for what little game selection the xbox has to offer it's still a no brainer if your really into driving,

I've not played the demo yet. But why are there other players going in the other direction? What way does that work?

There's no denying how good this all looks. I'm on the fence but I know I'll end up getting it eventually

Personally I found the handling just slightly altered so that it now feels a tad floaty- might be my wrong initial impressions but they do appear to have altered this even when you turn all assists off

Well color me impressed. This is more open road than I thought, and I'll gladly sacrifice 60fps for the phenomenal environments and detail in this game. Night driving looks awesome too. This looks seriously fun and I may buy a steering periph for this.

Considering Forza's physics engine is recognized as the best one one consoles, that's what I call trolling. I can understand why people would not be interested in the Forza series (boring career mode, lack of polish in overall presentation, etc.) but to say the engine is outdated seems to me like a bit of a way to start a flame war. Since it's usually what happens on car games threads (or football/soccer threads for that matter :p), I think it was wise to stop it. Like Mrwhite's answer for example, see what I mean. ;)
