First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

Because our copy of Hitman: Absolution wasn't sent early enough, we haven't had time to complete the game to give you a proper opinion. However, in spite of a few flaws (among which maybe the presence of a few linear levels), this new adventure of Agent 47 is way better than what some reviews have said in the past few days, at least according to us. Check out our videos of the 360 version, we'll try to add PC videos as soon as possible.
update: 2 PC videos added.

Graphics are stunning! Judging only by videos of course. Despite its dumb/impossible difficulty settings, I still want to get it. For PC of course.

man, the game looks so much easier in these video's. i'm guessing it's on normal? since you seem to have the instinct abilities?

Hard mode. Instinct abilities are present in all modes anyway even if things are a bit different in purist mode since there is no gauge. and don't think it's easy because you see me play correctly. You'll clearly get spotted a lot when you try. But if you want a good challenge go for Purist mode right away.

not all instinct abilities. expert doesnt have character/point of interest highlights like those present in this video...i assumed hard mode wouldn't have those either. i guess it does. there are more enemies on expert and purist too, and they're obviously more aware (too aware)

it's a great game tho, but it is punishingly hard. i've SA's all previous hitman titles on their hardest difficulties and not once did i feel the game was unfair. but this one i do. the AI see through disguises WAY too easy and from way too far away. the game is even more trial and error based. you have no map and thus don't know what room leads where or if you're using your perfectly timed movement to access a usefull area or a broom cupboard. you can't look through keyholes to assess the situation, you can't kit yourself out prior to each mission. the levels are cut into painfully small chunks with no sense of continuity between them.. it feels like a very stripped down experience as far as hitman is concerned, but it's still a good game for what it is.

Playing it on expert myself....it's fucking hard im not used to playing games like this since PS2 lol...taking a while to get into the swing of it. Might drop it down a level as like Korndog i feel the AI cheats and sees through disguises to much!

what level you up to? The 3rd in the hotel was quite bad, but the 4th had me seriously raging. Doable since I got through it, but it wasn't fun at all. Its games like this that make me think demon's souls and dark souls is easy.

apparently with the disguises you're spotted only by those you dress as? so if you're dressed as a cop theres no way it will allow you to be avoided by other cops? This sounds quite stupid and limiting if correct

Your can blend in by pressing the instinct button which wont get you noticed but it runs out quite quick (on expert anyway)

Yeah, that's the issue. Instinct is a major requirement, but expert doesn't give you much of it.

Sounds like there's some daft gameplay design choices coded into this. I thought the idea of dressing like a cop of a chef or whatever was so that you blend in with those sorts and types? That's some fuzzy backward logic there.

Cops know each other though or chefs in the same place would know each other so if you could walked around no bother looking at every cop or chef that would be far worse than the current system.

an entire police force wouldnt know each other so intimately to know you wasn't one of them from halfway across the room. it's kinda stupid. yes, up in their face you'd recognise them, but not from distance with your back turned. i mean, i don't think i'd recognise my best friend from 10 ft away if his back was turned wearing his clothes, never mind the people i worked with.

Exactly, the AI must be seriously paranoid if they're constantly looking out for impostors of their own kind.

Its a great game just not sure the best Hitman game of all time. The disguise system is just plain stupid and seems pointless wearing an outfit then having to still hide anyway, whats the point of the disguise???

The moment I was in full SWAT gear, helmet and balaclava on with only my eyes showing and still every cop in the room thought I was hostile made me realise the system is beyond broken.

Shame because it does a lot of things well with some fresh ideas. Only other gripe is that every characters second word is a swear word. Nothing against swearing myself but when its over used just makes them sound dumb without anything really interesting to say.

We're not alone in thinking it's a broken system.

I just hope they do something about it. If they don't the game simply isn't worth playing on either expert or purist. Which begs the question...why did they even include them? Maybe because of the backlash from their first 'escape' demo video? Who knows. I probably won't play any further until it's fixed.

Yeah its like they couldnt decide whether to include it or not, so its in but doesnt work very well which is the worst scenario. I have stuck to playing it Metal Gear style and just sneaking everywhere.

As I said good game and Contracts mode is a big plus (if it was working!!) for replayability just a shame there arent enough levels like "Hope" in it, or so far as much as I have played.

Playing this on hard and the tutorial makes sense, Currently in the mansion and took the chef out and disguised myself as him...now i can walk about the full bottom floor without being detected at all even though it's full of guards.

So i take a guard out and someone notices it's not any of his buddies pretty much straight away.

Makes sense!

I'm sticking with expert, but i'm having to play it like sam fisher, not like agent 47. It seems to work, but defeats a whole element of what makes hitman unique. Now i just feel like i'm playing a splinter cell clone with no light/shadow mechanic..lol. I mean, why disguise yourself when you have to crouch stealth anyway? Thus, disguises are useless

I've only played a single level tonight (they're really friggin long) and it was actually pretty O.K. It seems that police escape mission from the first demo they showed has been the worst for showing up the broken disguise system. But after that it's working ok. I'm sure that aint going to last, but it's way less frustrating atm at least
