Video PC Xbox 360 PS3 Vita

When we saw that a new gameplay video of WRC 3 had been released, unfortunately only in Youtube "quality", we figured the best way for us to talk about the game was to capture our own videos. Since the demo was released a few days ago, we did not hesitate to wake up our Fanatec 911 Porsche driving wheel from its summer slumber. It was also a good opportunity to show the hood cam view instead of the usual external view Milestone use in their promotional videos. Some will probably say my driving skills are too poor for this game, but I still think I deserved a better position in the end. What do you think?
Update: New video added. It shows the cockpit view during a replay.

Note:

The stage shown here was captured with no driving assists and AI difficulty set to default - which corresponds to medium difficulty.

impressive looking but some textures lack detail, ie the wall in screenshot one lacks any normal/parallax mapping and soo looks flat and dull.

Yes. I can try to upload a replay video in cockpit view if you want. It won't be available before tonight or tomorrow though.

Having owned WRC 2 and now played the WRC 3 demo (both PS3 versions), I have to say that this is a MASSIVE improvement over the previous game. WRC 2 looked like it was running upscaled 640 x 480 without anti-aliasing. It really looked awful! The cars seemed too rigid and appeared to float on the track. These graphics aren't as good as Dirt, but are more than adequate. The cars appear more planted on the road surface and the game provides a good challenge as the cars react and handle quite realistically.

I'm very keen to see how the Vita version is as that is probably the version that I will get (mainly because my Vita has been neglected for the past few months due to lack of games and I'm dying for something decent to play on it!) if it is as good as it is claimed. Sadly no cross-buy on this one :P

WTH ? There's some really weird looking texture-filtering going on here. This the console version i suppose... Solid driving btw

There is no PC demo, not that I know of anyway, so yes it's a 360 version. And thanks. ;)

I echo this comment,

The demo really surpised me. I love how fast, long and narrow the main demo track is. It really pressures you into driving smart. Handling felt less "whaffy" then dirt, visually it was nice, not even close to dirt though. Tracks no longer feel constricted and artificial, barriers bend and buckle when hit, tape barriers fall apart when hit. Front end still seems kind of amature-hour-ish, but Overall its a HUGE improvement. I rented WRC and enjoyed it despite its faults, didn't bother with the second since i knew it was largely the same game...this third entry however, i may just buy.

Hi! I am considering getting WRC3 when it comes out.
Unfortunately, my Logitech G25 just broke down irreversibly!! D:
I am considering getting a Fanatec Porsche 911 (the entry-level one) for budget reasons, and the G25 being nearly impossible to find, and I need it now!, I can't live without my rallying!
Can anyone tell me if it the Porsche 911 is compatible with WRC3 and if the sequential shifter can be mapped as a handbrake like I was able to do with the G25?
Is this wheel any good for rallying?
Thanks!! This is really important!
PS
I'm on a PS3.

I captured the videos you see here with the Fanatec Porsche 911 so it works (at least on 360, but I see no reason why it wouldn't on PS3). I don't know how the G25 works with WRC3, but with the Fanatec, the demo plays ok, but it requires some tweaking. I also noticed that there were no vibrations when you drive on dirt roads, while there are some with the controller. Now it could be the demo, so we'll have to wait and see how things are in the final version.

Cezarr, WRC3 is more of a rally game than any of the Dirt episodes, and there actually is a physics engine mind you. You're fully allowed not to like it, it's no reason to troll though.

the way in which you expressed your opinion was quite troll-ish though.
