Having already been captivated by the preview version, we're happy to confirm that the final release of David Board's Lifeless Planet lives up to our expectations in every way. Radically exotic, the discovery of what this Lifeless Planet holds delivers a nice mix of platforming, puzzle solving and, most importantly, a great deal of exploration. The sense of loneliness and desperation weights heavily on the hero and is further amplified by the discrete narration and sparse use of musical cues. The mix of melancholy string instruments layered with surreal electronic sounds recalls not only the wonderful score from the Mass Effect series but also the mysterious atmosphere of Cities of Gold, a wonderful animated series our older readers may remember. If you're an explorer at heart this is a game not to miss provided you're playing on a PC, of course.
