First 10 minutes PC PS4 Xbox One

The embargo concerning Far Cry 4 was lifted yesterday and that's exactly when we got our copy of the game. Needless to say we haven't been able to play much since then, so we can't really tell you if it's worth it or not. So far, it's quite similar to the previous episode but it looks undeniably better, even when comparing the PC version of Far Cry 3 to the PS4 version of the fourth installment in the franchise. After Assassin's Creed Unity, you'll be glad to hear that the game's performance is very solid, with a steady 30 fps in almost all circumstances. If these videos aren't enough, you should know that we'll be live tomorrow at 10:00 p.m. GMT+1 with Davton who will join us for some co-op action.
Update: 4 videos added.

I'm sorry, but after playing games as of late on my PC at 2560x1440 @ 96hz, 30hz/FPS is absolutely inexcusable for this generation.

It's sad to me that we are barely into the new gen of consoles and they are so weak.

sure, because everyone has a 1000 bucks for a new console, if you have a PC that can do all that why are you disappointed on something you don't need to use? stealth trolling, good one

uneducated rants has not done you any favors, a gaming PC using an Intel G3258 CPU with a GTX 760 could easily cost under $500, next time you feel like having a rant it would help if you knew what you were talking about!

this is why im skipping this generation of consoles, id rather pay $400 on a new GPU than $400 on a console to play games at far lower resolutions and lower frame rates and certainly im not paying $400 for a few exclusive console games when i could just save that money for a GPU upgrade in 3-4 years time when 4k will be the norm (well on PC at least).

i think this all depends on that games you would like to play
you maybe able to play halo5 on pc
but you will never be able to play uncharted , god of war or games that are made by the first party of Sony (or maybe in the future, you can play all these with the emulator, who knows)

So, if you like some console exclusive games, then you have to buy it
if not, then pc is always the potentially best place to play

That PC is *not* going to run Far Cry 4 at 96 fps and a 1440p resolution though :p

You must be holding out on AC Unity then...I doubt you will be able to sustain anywhere near that performance with any kind of PC currently available...

Are you guys aware that the PS4 can run some games easily in 4k, like Trine 2 for example.

Guys please don't overestimate the power of a $400 GPU. No $400 GPU can play all current games at 1080p 60fps much less 1440p 60fps(the res I game at), and this comes from a PC gamer who owns a Gaming rig with 2 x 780GTX Ti's in SLI, a 6 core i7 @4.2GHz and 18 GB ram, and my PC still can't play some games at 1440p 60fps max settings, much less 4k.

I agree with some of what you are saying, but don't shit all over console gaming, it has its ups and downs just like PC gaming. Sure PC gamers get games cheaper on the whole, awesome mods etc but we also have a lot more fiddling about to do, contending with piss poor ports, shoddy drivers and brand specific optimisations(e.g. some games built to run better on AMD or Nvidia hardware).

I own a PS4 and was about to buy an Xbone, but Sunset Overdrive alone wasn't worth it for me so I cancelled the order(the white version sure did tempt me though), and I have no interest in Halo.

Let's just all be gamers fellas, and not let what we choose to game on offend others.

PS: Great vids by the way guys, the PS4 version looks fantastic. DF praised it quite a lot.

of course, because all a PC need to run is a processor and a graphics card, so no need for a case, power supply, hard drive, ram, M&K for input, mother board and of course the OS, and even at that the $500 components you mentioned would never run that game at 1440p and 96 frames, so as you can see im very educated when it comes to computers, what this consoles do is more than impressive for the performance/price ratio, anytime you want i'll school again, good day

What PC configuration are you using that can sustain 96fps and 2560x1440? And in which games, on what detail settings?
Because my overclocked 780Ti has problems in achieving 60fps in 1080p on max settings in most of the recently published games.

Except when they're outdone by a 750ti and a Core i3.. but those are exceptional cases I guess.

A lot of folks have additional uses for household computers, and have for decades. If that's the case, then a GPU is an additive cost to something that you might already own, anyway. It's tough to make a 1:1 value comparison between such wildly different platforms. They have different purposes. I get *work* out of my GPU too.

There's a give and take there. Every platform has some benefit and appeals to different people for different reasons.

Exactly. Or who of the console people has absolutely no PC?

Back to topic: Far Cry 4 seems to work very well. Why doesn't Ubisoft use Dunia for more projects? Disrupt and and Anvil seem to be failures.

Why take an insult on this gen consoles.. personally? It wasn't a cut on anyone here. Or, for that matter, anyone who enjoys consoles. I'm saying, it's the end of 2014 and the latest consoles can barely power some games at 30 fps.

That's a sad state of affairs when the latest mobile processors, freak, even the 860m is more powerful. Yeah, console are "cheaper" but $600+ for the console, controllers, etc, seems like a bit much for 30 fps...

I wonder why your kind is so inclined to shove PC superiority down our throats? I personally don't like Windows, don't like Steam, don't like mouse/keyboard, don't want to deal with anything PC related, basically don't like whole ecosystem while i love most about my PS4. Can you imagine people having different preferences? Outrageous!

Console VS PC is getting so old, I can't believe how many nerds there are infecting the forums with useless dribble.

Never mind graphics, people should start pulling together and question why we keep getting recycled gameplay mechanics in every title.

Strange.. I don't remember shoving any thing down anybody's throat honestly. I made a comment about how 30fps on "Next Gen" consoles is quite ridiculous. No cut on anyone who prefers console or definitely not anything personal.

For me, I can build a killer gaming PC for much less than $1000. Yep, still more expensive than a "next gen" console but much more flexible. Now, I have owned every single console since the Atari 2600 but I finally bowed out of this "Next Gen" BS. A $600 PC is more "next gen" than these consoles.

Regardless, let's have a discussion. Not a juvenile flamewar.

On my PC, I am currently running an i5 with two GTX 970s in SLI on a Qnix 27" @ 96hz. I am not saying my system even compares price wise but I am just saying, after playing at 60 or let alone 96 hz, 30 FPS is just horrid on the eyes. Not a personal insult at all.

PS - Did you know that you can get a GTX 970 that plays all the latest games (Battlefield 4 @ 1080p, even at 96hz) for $329 with a FREE copy of Far Cry 4? That just leaves you a $150-$200 CPU, then mobo and other components for quite cheap? That gives you a killer system for not a ton more than a console with controllers, Xbox Live, etc etc.
