These german developers always make decent looking games that then turn out to play like complete shit. Especially all the assy RPGs they crank out...two worlds 1 and 2, Risen, Gothic...bleh. I'm very wary about this. If it turns out to be good then that's awesome but i doubt it tbh :P

Except we already saw this one gameplay in action and I tought it played decent for this type of game.

Seems fun.

two worlds 2 is actually very good, playing it atm. runs like shit on consoles, but does everything right as far as open world RPG's go, TONS to do, and TONS of loot. i've had about 30 full sets of armour and i havnt even found a single metal one yet, they've all been leather and various types of hide. plenty of weapoins too. and an unrivalled magic and alchemy system. if thats one area where bethesda games fail, it's in the loot and general mechanics, armour and magic specifically. but then even two worlds 1 was like that. tons and tons of unique loot. it was just a bit janky. risen and gathic where a bit TOO janky, even for me, but two worlds 2 is gonna be hard to beat imo, at least where it matters. i'm sure skyrim will run better. but i highly doubt it'll better two worlds in terms of weapons, armour, combat, magic and alchemy. just dont see it happening.

Err, it's very like to be better in all those categories. I've played TW2; it's better than the first one - lol, like that was difficult to do - but still not that great. Weapons and armour? Mediocre. Combat? Clunky. And the world design is dull. It was ridiculous enough that you compared TW1 with Oblivion, but I'm willing to bet my own house that Skyrim will be better at practically everything compared to TW2 (although that's a subjective matter).

But that's another game. The gameplay walkthrough of Dead Island is actually pretty darn good, so I have fairly high hopes for this.

previews have been less then steller atm for dead island. plus it's a dev who have yet to produce a genuinely decent game. i wouldnt hold your breath tbh.

you think skyrim will have a better magic system then that of two worlds 2, which pretty much let you mix and match ANYTHING. no, i doubt it. and if oblivion is anything to go by, the loot will be shit. i play these games for 2 reasons, loot and explorations. two worlds 1 AND 2 did both of those things better then oblivion imo since the world was far more varied, and the loot was more varied and there was more of it, same goes for weapons. two worlds 2 just added a magic and alchemy system that i cant imagine being bettered anytime soon.

the only thing i've seen of skyrim that i'd consider "better" thus far, is the visuals (which still look average) and performance. everything else looks typically bethesda...ie, a bit shyte

It can be compromises and we have to remember the resources and time and budget developers have so if teh combat is clunky or the narrative is bad or any part of the game is bad is comprehensible.

After all is a RPG.

very true. i can accept the performance and voice world being shit in two worlds 2 becasue the reast of the elements that make up the whole are so well done.

you know, it's like you accepting the lame story and characters of bayonetta for the sake of the gameplay.

Bayonetta story is pure raw garbage, I still don't know what the hell was that game about, as for characters I disagree 100% with that comment but that is subjective though and still is my favorite action game ever but I can "ACCEPT" a bad thing in a favorite game, aparently some can't even do that.

And no its "NOT" ok to have a bad thing in anything, even developers admit they have bad things or half assed aspects in their games and they apologize for that saying was a budget/time or whatever thingbut bad afterall its only the fanboys that cant accept it lol.

cant accept what? arnt we doing just that, accepting the faults for the sake of the whole? it's you who is potentially disregarding a game for the sake of what? a non central aspect such as combat collision, or not being able to see your feet? LMFAO

in regards to skyrim, no-one said the combat was perfect. all we where saying is that is doesnt matter that it's not. it's a non-issue, trivial, moot.

Combat in TW 2 is "clunky" compared to Skyrim? Ha!

You can't tell world design of Skyrim just from videos yet, but if we're going by Oblivion, it was generic with open plains, some cities, and dungeons. World design in TW 2 is leagues better, with better NPCs, lots of specific details to each area, dangerous forests, creature camps, villages, cities, harbors, etc. And I've just reached Chapter 2, so there could be even more variety.

Skyrim might be better than TW 2 at loot and weapons, maybe. Won't be better in story department, presentation, main missions, NPCs, or even characters, if we're judging from previous Bethesda games.

To be fair i think Two Worlds 2 was a step up from the first but it's still VERY sub par in pretty much every aspect. it looks pretty bad, combat is complete shit, voice overs are a joke yet again, story was pretty garbage and well...it does a lot just nothing especially well imo. Didn't feel that open either to me...lots of space to walk, sure, but rather little content to be had in said area. Though i only ever played through the first chapter before having steam remove the content of the game. It was that bad for me. Now Gothic 4 was a small upswing, working well enough that i could stomach playing it for a few hours but Two Worlds, not so much.

What are you even talking about?

I only said that games has bad things in them, bad aspects that for whatever reason are the way they are and devs have said so they have admited that some aspects are bad in thier games, but a fanboy will not accept it and instead they will apologize and make up excuses for that very bad aspect of it, llike for example "Its a RPG" "it didnt have enough time" and so on.

I don't even know what are you refering here to be honest, I think you got lost or something, if I disregard a game for an aspect what that have to do with acdepting a bad aspect in a game such a non proper combat collision?

Some recent gameplay

Liking the localised damage system, buddies, and saving a random guy stuck in a car from zombies. Bodes well for the open world.

but that is precisely what we ARE doing. we're accepting the shortfalls for the sake of the whole. we dont NEED the collision to be perfect to get enjoyment out of it since all the elements that MATTER work great. yet i've seen you disregard a game for not being able to see your own feet...LMAO. if we're talking about people not being able to accept things, that's a prime example right there. you are in essence missing out on potentially amazing games for something utterly trivial. it's short sighted and shallow. in the same way complaining about a game like skyrim is short sighted and shallow. it's like bitching about a layered cake of the best sponge, jams, creams and chocolate, for the sake of the cherry on top.

at least the "fanboys" as you call them can see the forest through the trees.

I still can't understand fully what the Bayonetta story is but i still found what was told to me to be very compelling. The characters are however very bloody cool. Excellent script even if most of wierd shit went over my head. It's a love or hate thing i guess, but one thing that simply cant be argued is Bayonetta's combat is way more dynamic and deep than any other in the genre

2 Worlds sounds like a fun but slightly broken game in places. I like loads of games that are basically turds -2 Worlds doesn't sound a total turd actually- so i do can understand Korn's taste sometimes

Annnd back to Dead Island. Yeah this game will probably disappoint. But all the Cod Kiddies might take Black Ops out of their machines to try it because there are zombies in it, which gives them boners (even though not one of them have ever played Resident Evil)
