Or any other documentary following a crew.

It's like he's taking the piss.
As for the character, yeah, the writing is crap and if they wanted a southern accent, they should have hired someone with one. As for stupid, I've certainly know plenty of brain-cases in my time- we even had one guy go AWOL for 2 weeks to take care of his horses, lol. Then he married a chick 10 years older than him that he only knew for 2 weeks right before we deployed so he could get the separation pay. There's an idiot, and he was just about exactly like the dude in the voice-over...
I certainly believe you Frozpot, as you have been there. I am only trying to point out that I don't make this up based on my suspiscion.
Anyhow, the point of my first post was the poor design choice. Why would you claim to make a realistic war simulation, when the protaganist is an idiotic character. How does one identify himself with such a person while playing a game.
Wtf was that? That video was very off-putting. Are they trying to copy Bad Company?
It's almost like they are mocking the military with this game. I have never heard a service member speak remotely like that. Sure there are some less than intelligent soldiers, but most are honorable, intelligent people and are interested in more than just killing "stupid baddies".
If Codies had any honor they would change the name of this game to Middle Eastern Combat Shoot-a-rama and save the great OP:FP name any further disgrace. I honestly can't see a single saving grace for this game, and I can enjoy just about any game. It's not going to do linear, arcadey action as well as COD or MOH, and it doesn't even come close to tactical, sim warfare, so WTF are they even trying for? It's like they just had no direction and are going solely on the Flashpoint name. Sad, just sad...
