Video PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Our first contact with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was on Playstation 4, and although Kojima's Fox Engine didn't look as impressive as we could expect, it was still a lot better than what we got to see yesterday when we finally played the Xbox 360 version of the game. Low framerate, pop-up issues, aliasing, poorer textures, the difference is quite clear from the get-go. That being said, this old gen version still has its moments, with nice lighting and weather effects (rain drops also look nice in slow motion) and well-rendered cutscenes. Problem is, as soon as you start goofing around because you have the whole Gamersyde team in the living room - and they never make it easy on you when you try to play seriously - things get a bit messy and it doesn't really show Ground Zeroes in its best light. We'll let you find the incriminated video on your own. Many thanks to Xbox for sending us this copy of the game.

at least it doesn't run at sub 20fps. thank god for that, it would be a complete POS. The dev relesases a vision of 60fps for their engine and in the end you make it run like a turtle in some crappy hardware just because? hell no.

Yeah like Dead Rising 3 AND at 720p.

This game however still looks great on current gen, friends didn't believe me when I explained to them in Sep 2012 that the debut footage was current gen. Its obvious that a game released 6 years after the last one, that was an early generation game of its era, was going to look much better.

They already did dude and they are great and spoiler free. Now if only Evolution Studios would send over some new direct feed videos of Driveclub for Gamersyde to expertly host again :)

or at sub-hd like the pos MGS4. still looks great right? lol.

the fuck deadrising has anything to do with it? this IS a shit output for MGSV. a game running on a engine that looks passable on current gen because of shitty last gen output texturing and modeling, and runs and looks (IQ) like shit on last-gen compared to better engines on last-gen games, for stressing the hardware too much.

clusterfuck. definition of cross-gen. too bad, kojoima.

sorry I didnt saw those vids at your review, looks amazing, but I still prefer 1080p 60fps Tomb Raider DE over 1080p 30fps Infamous, wish more games are 60fps over some effects etc.

inFamous isn't 30 fps locked, just like TR (which isn't 60 fps locked either by the way). Being an open world game however, inFamous has a lower fps average than SE's title.

not all games need 60fps to feel/play good. A 3rd shooter gains something, but it isn't crucial, you're not moving your camera all the time to look at someting, your viewing area is separated from the interaction object (character), so fluidity isn't that crucial as an fps or other types. it is needed a good steady framerate, but 60 adds something, but it isn't make or break i think.

Sometimes some of your headline articles don't show up in the home page feed. I would have totally missed infamous if I didn't see that tagline on the right side saying "we reviewed infamous..."
After a couple weeks the missing headline articles pop up in the home page feed but then they are no longer on page 1 so again it's totally missable.
I don't think it's a big deal but thought I'd let you know Drift.

It could simply be that you didn't tick the "Sony news visible" thing in your account, or in the filter on top of the homepage.

It looks great on the XB360. Kojima did model his new Fox Engine based on last gen specs. It looks great for a last gen game! I was playing this pratically throughout the night. I finally got all of those 9 XOF patches!

probably one of the best looking title out there on last gen hardware. of course being at the end of it's life cycle it's to be expected.

I'm still holding out for the PC version, and hopefully it gets bundled with phantom pain. or heavily discounted so i can pick up both for cheap.

Played the game on 360, and it looks pretty sharp and runs fine outside of cutscenes/shenanigans. Parts of it look downright great.

This game has massive latency issues with aiming, and 60 would shore that up significantly, even more so than normal. Shooting feels like total ass in this game, despite a perfectly serviceable and fairly smooth framerate during gameplay. While I agree 30 is usually enough, it's still a huge difference and in this case I think they needed either more frames or a much smarter way of getting those frames pumped out.
Also, this engine is built for last gen, what do you expect? Stop your uneducated bitching about the engine. it looks fine on current gen and sharp (if not extraordinary) on current gen. If not everything needs to run at the very much more responsive 60fps, not everything needs to look as sharp and shiny as InFamous.

You mention how a game running at 20fps and 720p and with awful textures is a "POS" as you said AND I am saying that is exactly what Dead Rising 3 is, a game supposed to be running on next gen hardware only. Oh and awful screen tearing too.
MGS V on 360 is a LAST gen game and looks great no matter how much you want to complain and is nowhere as bad as how a baffling game like DR3 turned out. DR3 is one of those launch games that reviewers will be saying in 3 years "what were we thinking giving that 8/10 back then?".

wtf? a game like red dead redemprion looks fine bc it has a fine engine and visuals, and it DOES look sharp while doing it. This crap has shimmering, aliasing, pop-ups, muddy textures all over. Just because you retrofit some new shading and DOF and lighting of next-gen, doesn't make it look good, when the hardware can't handle it. you just make it work, barely.
