As promised, here are a bunch of videos of the Xbox 360 version of Need For Speed: The Run. As you will see, it does not look as sharp as the PC version but the visuals are nonetheless pretty good when you don't pay too much attention to pop-up issues and poor textures. That being said, the problem of the short length of the "story" mode and its lame plot is still there. So even though there is a bit of fun playing The Run, you definitely should go for Hot Pursuit of you need your share of high speed driving.

Hot Pursuit, The Run, Shift 2: Unleashed, and World are all 4 very distinctive games in their own right. The only share the franchise tag of Need for Speed.

It's not a good game beyond it's pretty graphics.
There are a lot of other games more worthy of the homemade videos treatment.
Now if you wonder why we did not show any gameplay footage of, say, Forza 4 or Halo Anniversary, then ask the guys at Microsoft France since they did not even send us the games. As for the rest, I think we've been pretty thorough and we have done a pretty damn job since the end of August:
Deus Ex, Driver SF, Fifa 12, PES 2012, Resistance 3, Dead Island, F1 2011, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted 3, Assassin's Creed Revelations, War of the Worlds, Modern Warfare 36, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Sonic Generations, GoldenEye, Tintin, Spider-Man, Batman AC, Crysis, Rage, Dark Souls, Rayman Origins, Gears of War 3, Resident Evil 4 HD, Rise of Nightmares, Off Road Drive, Leedmees, Space Marine, Hard Reset, God of War Collection 2, Splinter Cell Trilogy HD, Trackmania 2, Ni no Kuni...
The thing is it's a lot easier to show more footage of a racing game since you don't spoil anything. It's a lot different when it comes to games like Uncharted 3 or Gears 3 for example. :)

I was in no way criticizing gamersyde for being lazy, you guys have done a fantastic job bringing quality content to this site, i'm just saying you guys could have taken some well deserved time off instead of spending time and effort on this bland game ;)
Talking about it one more time does not necessarily mean the game is given a lot more attention. On the French side for example, almost nobody cared about these videos. ^^
By the way, I know we're running a bit late but we should be able to propose some Rayman Origins videos over the week end (as well as some PC footage of Batman AC).

Its using the DICE developed Frostbite 2 3d engine that take full advantage of the platform hardware its on in theory its supposed to take full advantage of Microsoft's proprietary IP API Direct X 11 on PCs, its supposed to take full advantage of the Xbox 360 Xenon/Xenos hardware and full advantage of the Sony PS3 CellBE/RSX (specifically the SPUs which for a multiplatform 3d engine it means alot more than the lazy ports other developers are throwing around)
That said it should it theory at least mean that the game even though its multiplatform and supposed to be the same, it should not suffer tech wise and should perform and display the same 3d effects and not look like crap.
However making a 3d polygon game with network online mode is no easy task it still takes roughly two years for the average game reguardless of dev tools and usually racing games have or don't need a "story mode" it seems EA's dev team decided on a story mode for the sake of those gamers who like videogames like they like movies like (gasp) Fast and the Furious, etc.
That does not mean the game will be great, or even good then again a mediocre game like Assasins Creed 1 sold 7 million copies and the top selling game this whole generation is Call of Duty franchise both of wich did not or do not push the hardware in these current gen consoles, if we were to get really technical Call of Duty could be considered a high resolution/frame rate XBox 1 game in HD yet those games can only get away with their basic non ambitious tech for so long.
Personally I believe EA has it right in funding/backing Dice with the idea behind the Frostbite 2 3d engine's potential as they have made games like Dead Space which might actually use that tech and greatly benefit from it in the future.
Again I am not promoting DICE or EA but I understand their ambition and I believe that we the gamers of our chosen gaming platforms will benefit from optimized games, I was at a friends house, he had this game on his PS3 and 46 inch HDTV, it looked pretty damn good, much better than previous NFS games, my preference is GT5 and btw I loved Sega-AM2's OutRun 2 and OutRun Coast2Coast on XBox 1
