We spent almost two hours telling you about Assassin's Creed: Syndicate tonight and if you missed it and you are interested in the game, you can now watch the full replay. Just be patient for the stream. Good night and good luck!
That answer to the random jump to the left or right question was exactly what I wanted to know. So many times I have been mid-chase or mid jump and the character decides while sprinting to jump off the building and not straight.
If you guys release some PC videos of this, I might just end up getting it. Something about games in the Victorian era grab me.
Clean? it looks empty to me (compared to Unity's Paris).. Is it true that Syndicate has almost no buildings you can go into? If that is the case then this game is the downgrade I feared after Unity.. Part of why I liked Unity so much because it felt alive with big crowds etc and I could finally go into more buildings.. Now they took all of that away in Syndicate, that's a very big immersive downgrade to me.. And immersion is probably the most important thing for me in this type of game..
And yeah I know, Unity had a few performance problems as a cutting edge game, it was pushing hardware to the limit, but it ran fine on my PC after a few patches.. Granted I'm using very highend hardware (980Ti), but it does run fine at 60+ fps at 1440p with high settings.. Game tech should move foward, not backwards imho.. I hoped they would optimize and move on from where Unity left of in terms of their tech, but instead they just downgraded it to "fix" performance for consoles and lesser PC hardware.. Obviously I'm dissapointed!
I will now most likely just skip Syndicate.. Some other new big games to play next month anyway..
I think what the problem is with the lighting, is that it doesnt stretch as far as it did in Unity.
As in, in Unity, you could see for what seemed like miles and miles, with no fog, or deceptive rendering techniques.
This seems to be very foggy in the not too distant...distance? lol.
Oh, and actually, the very last patch they added to Unity looked like it cut down on draw distance in comparison to the first 2-3 patches. They didnt optimize it when they patched it for performance. Once they released the first couple patches and realized they couldnt get it right, they started swapping assets in areas, and cutting down on LOD.
My ''tester'' version with 1.3 patch ran better than the retail copy fully patched. Lol.

I would have hopped it looks a lot more industrial & darker with thick oily black smoke in the air.
Are frame-drops in the game or can they be from somewhere in the recording/encoding chain?

Do you get many viewers on your Twitch streams?
Also I think it's crazy you do a FR one and then follow with an ENG one. Crazy in a good way :)
I have now followed you on Twitch, hope to catch the next one live.
