The embargo for Nioh 2 was lifted about an hour ago, our review is up on the French side, but I neither have the time nor the strength to translate the verdict to you guys this time as it is getting kind of late here. All I can say is that I've spent a good amount of time on the game, though I haven't managed to complete it yet because I wanted to finish the first one first (which made me start the sequel a few days we were sent the review code). The game has made me terribly frustrated at times, the first bosses (number 2 and 3) being unfairly difficult (even after beating the first game just before), but I've also had a great time playing. I believe the game needs a bit more balance in the way its difficulty is handled, which might come in a future patch who knows, but it's clearly a sequel which should please the fans. If Dark Souls is more your thing, I don't think you'll change your mind about Nioh as level design is pretty easy to read in comparison and difficulty is handled in a much better way in From Software's games, at least in my book. That being said, if you're looking for the improbable mix between Diablo, Monster Hunter, Ninja Gaiden and the Souls series, Team Ninja has something in store for you.
