Video PC PS4

We received a code for Pure Pool a little while ago but we had a few minor problems so it took us a bit longer than expected to cover the PS4 version of the game. Follow us inside and check out our HQ gameplay videos.

What we think

Pure Pool features a certain number of game modes, from the classic Eight-Ball and Nine-Ball modes to the more original Killer mode (in which each pool ball you miss costs you one point, the game ending when a player reaches zero). There are also multiple challenges to choose from but the content is mostly realistic, which means it's true to the reality of the sport. Here your line of sight is limited to what you can actually see when actually playing pool. You can move around the table to find the best angle but there are no TV-like camera angles to see the action from above. Although it might not look like a very fun game at first glance, the possibility to customize the table and the presence of some kind of a trophy system make it quite addictive to play. Certain criteria are required to win the in-game trophies, like for example sinking three balls in a row or managing to sink one from a distance. In the end, if pool is one of your passions, there is enough content here to keep you busy, the good news being that, if you're not into multiplayer AI can be quite challenging.

bought the psv version and also pure chess. the graphics are indeed so good.

This looks pretty nice. I am tempted to hold off. One of the problems with being on PS+ is I start thinking "oh that could be free on + in a couple of months".

I cant really see this game being a plus game (and tbh i really hope they start throwing more than little indie games at the ps4 soon). This though is perfect for something like Share-play i think...mate has it, so that's least what i'll be waiting for to play it on. Finally get to play towerfall multi too

anyone ever made a pool/snooker game with motion controls? psmove on a stick? where power and angle is determined in a more realistic way.

all the motion control has to use the camera to track the controller, while the pool game may have the occlusion situations which mean the camera can not find the controller. so i guess this makes it hard to do complete
