The game looks so fun and all the stuff the streamers were saying really got to me, so much so that it gave me that itch to buy it. But I just bought Destiny 2: Beyond Light's expansion + 4 Season Passes and Genshin Impact just released a meaty v1.1 expansion.
Valhalla and other games will have to wait, by then they will be discounted. But for those interested, a reviewer said Valhalla is as good as Ghost of Tsushima, albeit very different in the sense that Valhalla is a RPG and Ghost of Tsushima is an Action-Adventure game.
There's not much emphasis on stealth for Valhalla, which makes sense since you're a viking. You can still play stealthly, it's just not encouraged. The 1-hit kill mechanic is back, and you use a quick-time event to kill. However, it works like 9.9 out of 10 times. Didn't get more clarification on that, probably some enemies are like mini bosses, though if it doesn't kill, it takes a huge amount of health.
From the music to conversations, Valhalla screams from its very soul The Witcher 3 really hard. Everybody in the streams was commenting on how they felt like they were listening and watching The Witcher 3.
Facial animations are really good, I mean really good. I can't say that's for all characters, but for some they really put in the work. I remember that was a heavy criticism after they showed the gameplay, so glad they worked on that.
The raven is customizable. And the weapons can be upgraded, when you do upgrade them, that's when you unlock places to put runes in them, to give them perks. Combat is much faster than Odyssey.
Can't say almost anything about the story as I avoided those discussions like the plague, however some people said they really liked the story and the characters. In the end, it's still an Assassin's Creed and Ubisoft game, but it's a great game nonetheless.
