GSY Video PC PS4 Xbox One

Our final verdict on Assassin's Creed: Syndicate will come tonight during our dedicated livestream, but until then we have some high quality gameplay footage of the PS4 version of the game to share with you. Because we didn't want to spoil anything from the main plot, the content of the videos mainly focuses on secondary missions. To find out what we think about the game and ask us all the questions you have on your mind, please join us tonight at 10:00 GMT+2 for a new GSY Live Review.

Yep. This is Assassin's Creed alright.

These games are just wells of architectural reference to me now. I'll watch a walkthrough on Youtube and then probably get it when it's the price of a buy one get one free large pizza or something.

I had hoped that Evie was more than just an alternative skin to Jacob, but from the different impressions and playthroughs it looks as if that is not the case.

Shame really.

'London baby' video was great and felt like the best part of the AC games as usual really, just seeing how they recreated the setting.

Watched Evie In The City after and it confirmed it. Same old, run from dot to dot and no thought when it comes to pulling off the missions. Just go to markers, use your supernatural powers to eliminate any challenge and boom, next mission or collectible which is again just chasing dots on a minimap.

It's nice brainless fun but not something I'd pay premium price for and always feels like a huge wasted potential.

Climbing that round brick tower in the beginning of that London baby video reminded me of Nebulus. ;)

Is it the same engine as the last game? Maybe they'll have most of the bugs worked out... we'll see. I'll only be playing it because it came free with my graphics card. never played AC before...

Also, look! A female character! Now the feminists can shut the hell up.

Does anyone even get excited about AC games anymore? Aren't there like 10 of them now? I remember being very excited back when the 1st or 2nd one was out but didn't get a chance to play them. Then they started pumping them out so fast at some point I knew I could never catch up if I started from the first one. Now I just have no interest. Isn't the whole story behind AC about aliens if I remember correctly from the 1st or 2nd game?

Well they could do that during victorian era didnt you know :P *sigh*

Series is a complete joke since AC3 (Revelations was meh), Black Flag had nothing to do with being an assassin and was a success (those who played) and a fluke just because of a ship that, again...had nothing to do with being an assassin.

AC1 still holds the best vibe of a cold, bleek and dark mystery of the assassins.

Yup, to many games of the same series in a row to fast gets you fatigued.. I played AC1, then had a pause in the series then picked up Black Flag and played Unity just a few months ago and now Syndicate already.. A 2-year cycle would be better imho.. Also the fact that the PC version is released at the same time as Star Wars Battlefront and Fallout 4 does not help.. I now have to make choices.. It means I will probably play Syndicate on a later date when I feel ready again to play a AC game.. Added bonus to that will be it will probably be cheaper to buy and had a few patches already.. I did get Unity also a bit later after it got patched..

Hi, I'm just replying to you to address something you said that it's completely inaccurate to me. it's not impossible to catch up from Assassin's Creed 1 till Syndicate now, it doesn't even take too much time. By "too much time", I consider the fact that 1 game like The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Divinity: Original Sin and other 150-300+ hours games take more time to complete than the entire main Assassin's Creed games.

I played through Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 with all their story DLCs and completed them 100% (with the exception of AC 1) in approximately 2 months. It was 5 games and from the middle of July 2013 till September 2013 - when Grand Theft Auto 5 came out.

With the exception of 1 (which took a few days) and 3 (which took 2 weeks with all DLCs), I remember that each game took about 1 week to complete. If you ignore all the collectibles, you can most likely finish each game in 2-3 days - so 5 games in 10-15 days.

Since then Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Liberation HD, Rogue, Unity, and recently Syndicate - 5 games as well. Admittedly, the recent AC games are longer, so let's say it takes 4-5 days to finish each while ignoring collectibles, you can finish these in 20-25 days.

Now just add the oldest 5 AC games' 10-15 days with the 5 recent ones' 20-25 days and you can most likely finish all main Assassin's Creed games in about 30-40 days. If you spend about 4 hours a day, that's around 120-160 hours for 10 games - In comparison, Fallout 4 will have 400+ hours of content for example, and that's just 1 game.

There's an important note though, after Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag - some would say after AC3 - there's basically no important story connection between the games, so there's no real need to play through all AC games because of story. Still, if you want to know everything, you can read a summary or watch a summary video on Youtube that explains everything in minutes or hours.

One of the best parts about Assassin's Creed 1 till 4: Black Flag was the modern time story and how what you did in the past (inside the animus) affected the future. But since recent games don't do much in that regard, you can play Syndicate or Unity without having played any other AC game before and still enjoy it as much as anyone who played through them all.

He's not necessarily talking about time. Maybe he's talking more about desire knowing how similar they are... I know if i hadn't started these from day one i'd find it impossible to play through them all knowing they're all so samey. You'd be fatiqued by the third and never bother with the rest. Then you've got to combat the boredom of the early games were variety of gameplay and options were even lower.

It's a bit like being faced with a 15 season TV show. Theres just too much there. I wouldnt even bother starting.
