First 10 minutes Xbox 360 PS3

When the Ryu ga Gotoku team decides to work on a sci-fi action game set in the near future, we have every reason to be interested. Now it's true that the shooting mechanics of their previous games were not particularly good, but thankfully it's a totally different story with Binary Domain. Though the relationship system could have been a bit less superficial, the fact that you can build your team and give basic orders is pretty nice. The best part of the game is the world it depicts, with its Terminator-like robots you can tear to pieces with your guns. Maybe not the best Third Person shooter out there but an entertaining one for sure.

What's the story like? That's what I'm most interested in based on the demo and trailers.

Philosophical, not ground breaking material, but it made sense and was solid.

Is it conveyed well? I got the sense through the demo's cutscenes that it was going to have a serious tone that was well depicted, hopefully I was right.

Really tempted to pick this up for its story and style. Had a fun time with the demo.

EDIT: Also, this got an 8/10 from Eurogamer (one of the few gaming sites I pay attention to for reviews). Impressive.

eurogamer still has non gamers as Ellie Gibson and other hacks doing reviews so no... people can blame Edge all they want, but Eurogamers is transparent.

garbage.

Well I said it made sense and was solid. I can say that it definitely was not the best in it's story genre, in fact if you watched Irobot you won't learn really anything new. But the original spin on it was enjoyable and certainly there were gameplay elements and scenes that were fun.

Basically if you like stuff that questions what makes you "human", you will like this.

So far it's a fun, albiet clunky third person shooter. The combat is fun and impactfull, although the enemies are repetative and behave very similarly just with varying strength. Graphics are OK. But nothing special. Voice acting and story are dire, and the whole communication gimmick is utterly pointless. The core of it is fun tho. I'd say worth trying out, but only if you can find it cheap or you can rent it. I've played much worse third person shooters.

Can you say what Third Person are worse out there, and please use you negative stuff, no really I want to know exactly, like for example I think ME2 and 3 shooting is really nice, this is better than those?

Gears games I like the shooting too.

In terms of the core combat gameplay, and sense of impact from shooting.

ME1/2/3
Vanquish
Resi 4/5
Army of 2 1/2
Crackdown
Warhawk
Starhawk
Shadow of the damned
Saints row 1/2/3
Red faction gorrilla/armageddon
Etc etc etc

I'm really enjoying the shooting in binary domain, morso then most games. It's everything else that lets it down imo.

Is still rain downgraded in the ps3 version? Its rare to find multiplatforms these days that tone down stuff and effects (like HDR and God Rays), usually its just AA, Framerate and tearing these days.

PS3's architecture is terrible so this isn't surprising at all.

I want PS4 to be release ASAP
