After IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, 505 Games are back with a new title, Birds of Steel. As you can imagine if you are familiar with their previous game, flying WW2 planes require some getting used to, especially if you choose to play in full simulation mode. Sure, there are other modes to choose from, depending on the level of flying assist you want to use. This new game is without a doubt aimed at hard core fans, but it is definitely worth checking out if the Ace Combt series isn't realistic enough to your liking. Here are a bunch of videos we captured from the Xbox 360 version.

It has reviewed well (8.5 from IGN with the text of the review being glowing). It has a full Pacific theater campaign as well as a very long list of individual missions in the Pacific and Europe. It also has a very in-depth mission editor. 16 player online, 4 player coop. Great graphics and sound. Arcade, Realism, and Simulation flying modes, etc. I summarized it here: http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1629824&p...
Sounds great. Amazon has it for $40. Bummer on the no split screen though. If I had friends with this I would jump in as it looks like a great game.
I would like to get this but I want a demo. IL2's controls didn't sit well with me in that the arcade mode really had messed up placement of the yaw and normal/southpaw. I like how DICE did the layouts in BF1943.
To be honest, the physics and gameplay actually look a LOT like Pacific Fighters, which was the unofficial sequel to IL-2. Although it wasn't as good, I still played that game for years. I could spend hours on end just perfecting carrier landings on simulator mode. I had no idea this game was even coming out, much less tomorrow!!!
If that is too much he can send the review copy my way and I will send you some shaky cam footage :P
Anyone who has played pacific fighters for PC will know that this is basically the same game with a few updates, but I don't care. I have always wanted a WWII flight sim on console, and after tons of disappointments, this is the one. I urge anyone who has any interest in flight sims to give it a go. For $40 bucks you can't go wrong here!
@ Grift: the demo has Wake Island!

Looking forward to this though, reminds me of the good old days of Battlefield 1942. :)
