Trials Fusion, first "next-gen" title in the now famous Trials series, has been released today. Ubisoft sent us the PS4 version of the game a few days ago, and as a big fan of the series since Trials HD I just had to record a few videos and give you my impressions!
What's new and interesting in this new game compared to the previous ones? The playable ATVs are a nice addition to the series, but their gameplay does not allow as much finesse as the bikes and in the end they seem more like an afterthought in the whole game. The FMX (stunt) mode adds quite a lot of replayability to the levels for the most hardcore fans, but is also not that big a revolution in terms of gameplay, which remains exactly the same as before in the end. That being said, it's not a bad thing at all!
Technically and graphically this first "next-gen" release isn't revolutionary either. The game looks great with much more details than before, and runs in 1080p in the PS4 version tested, but also doesn't manage a perfectly smooth 60 fps all the time. A patch was available when we got the game a few days ago, but we don't know if it was the "day 1" patch that was supposed to fix the framerate issues or not (no patches as of this morning, at least). Even if it remains as it is, the game is still as playable as the ones before in the series, but it would be a bit of a disappointment.

Strange, I've just completed it on PS4 and it never dropped below 60fps on all tracks.
Didn't enjoy it as much as Trials Evo though, so i think i'll be sending it back soon.

Have you ever done a rebuild database by going into the recovery startup for PS4? I did that last week, maybe that improved the frame dips before I played Trials. Probably BS, but could be worth a try?
I got a code for peasant version (360), pop-in textures are quite bad, otherwise it runs with similar framerate like older games.
