Released two years ago on PC, Cities: Skylines is finally available on Xbox One, a rather well done adaptation with a UI and controls redesigned for the console. It therefore offers an almost identical base game to the PC version as well as the After Dark expansion. Here are videos of the creation of a city and a few impressions.
On the plus side
+ Very good gamepad controls
+ Nice graphics
+ Almost complete Cities Skylines experience
+ After Dark expansion included
+ 12 maps, 4 themes
+ Sandbox mode
On the downside
- A few slowdowns during close-ups, especially at night
- Only one simulation speed, you have to be patient early in the city building process
- Only one expansion pack included
- No content editor (which allowed to create parks and edit existing buildings)
- No mod support

Makes no sense considering games was already around 6-7gb on Xbox 360.
Why would they compress it that much when they have a whole Blu-Ray disc of storage?
Looked quite OK though so I'm not sure it actually has a negative impact on the game that way, but... just got me very surprised.
So, nothing is more compressed than the original, you must have confused it with another game.
In the end it's all about the money, and the consoles are a very big market.. So it will inevitably happen that they will try to get into that market with any type of game, even when not really suited for the platform..
