Let's be done with Project Gotham Racing 3 for now with this very sunny video of New York. My camcorder overexposed the image a bit, but not that much. The sunlight in the cockpit view can make things quite difficult to see.
Yeah everything is nice and beautiful but my concern is about something else:
Does PGR3 make use of any ForceFeedback and has anyone ever seen a steering wheel for the 360?
I mean, I wont have to play such a great racegame with a silly pad in my hands!
other things:
the AF of the X360 doesn't look that good, textures like the tarmac are washed out after a few meters (same in kameo) and I still haven't seen any screenshot with AA enabled! I see it coming, the developers are using motion blur, HDR and stuff and are not able to use AA at the same time just like on a PC. I hate jaggies and 1280x720 is not a high enough resolution if there's no AA applied.

I asked the Bizarre guys at the Tokyo Game Show. If a FF wheel is available for Xbox 360 (and I've been told yesterday there will be one), they will update the game via Xbox Live to support it.

Blim's driving is a mystery. He can take a corner like a true master, and then slide over and go right in the wall in the next corner. I'm sure looking forward to some PGR3 live sessions. ;)

That is high enough without AA applied. In contrast, many PC gamers are still playing in 1024x768 with 2x or 4x AA. Also, we need to remember this is a launch title. Expect to see amazing things in the 4 to 5 year life cycle.
Nice! Didn't think you were going to hook us up with NYC videos--yay. I completely agree that 1280x720 is not high enough resolution to ditch AA at..hell, aliasing is noticable at considerably higher resolutions, even beyond 1080p. It is however way more aparent in screenshots than it is in motion..I'm a little dissapointed that we have to trade AA for HDR, motion blur, or DOF in some cases--for some applications AA becomes rather important to image quality.

Yet they are able to use AA and HDR (FP10/FP16 blending). The issue is multifold. One being the demos are non-final builds. The second, and closely related, is the crunch devs are on (unable to make fancy specialized builds that are well optimized) and the fact they got final beta hardware in Augest.
Also, this is not a problem on all PC hardware--only Nvidia hardware. ATI's X1000 series can perform FP16 blending and AA at the same time. The issue is software at the moment (similar to the issue the 360 is facing).
Like all launches even the graphically excellent titles will suffer in many areas. The polish (and optimization) between year 1 games and year 3 games is immense.
I read in an article which interviews Itagaki, and they mention that the face buttons are digital, which is very very very diss-appointing. A step down in controller technologue. Perhaps the digital face buttons are to help conserve the wireless controller's battery life? Hopefully they release a version with analogue.
Peronally i don't think analogue buttons are worth the trouble. They were poorly implemented in the xbox controller, and didn't make much difference in gameplay with most games.
I am really disappointed in the horrible texture pop-in in this game. I really thought it would be a thing of the past, but it is just as evident in this next generation. On the whole, i'm just not very impressed with next-gen.

Are the Xbox 360 controller face buttons analogue? Anyone?

No sound? What's up with that, it's the Ferrari F50 GT!!!!!
Anyways, Blim. When using the in-car camera, can you look at any angle you want? Or just all the way left and right? Thanks!
