So much talk, so little new stuff.

The only thing that was really new and eye catching

I want this game now!

The development history in that interview was fascinating. Basically, Platinum Games is left free to do whatever since it's after MGS 4. Even Kojima thought Raiden throwing the MG Ray was too much :P

It is after MGS4, but Kojima is still in control for the story and such, Platinum Games do everything else...atleast thats what what have been said.

@Sath: actually the story has been rewritten by Platinumgames in 2 months time. Their vision of how the game should be.

Kojima oversees. With a emphasis on ''oversees'' everything is still linked to the universe and is in check. (incl.story and cutscenes)

So by control they mean it has to go through Kojima and he has to give it greenlight. If it's not fitting, he will tell platinumgames to change this or that.

So to make clear: Everything is created. As in literally created by the hands of platinumgames. Kojima and his team make sure that nothing is done to the game, that doesn't fit with their vision.

Its confusing I know.

Thats not how it is GrayFox.

Kojima is letting Platinum make whatever they want with it, thats why its changed from MGS2-MGS4 to after MGS4.

Also the story is written by the same dude that wrote the first concept.

@IRAIPT0IR:

This is from the podcast (interview with Kojima) first released with the announcement:

--- They gave the previous plot to Platinum, but Platinum ended up asking to write it all again from scratch. Therefore, it went from between MGS 2 and 4, to after MGS4. Writing the script took 2 months (instead of 10 months with the previous failed project). ---

So yes I agree they have the freedom, thats my whole point. Alotsa people think that Kojima Prod. is developing this game. But freedom also ment that they had to rewrite the story.

So no the story is not written by the one who wrote it first but by Platinumgames.

The only thing brought over from the old Rising is the "cutting" and even that got a different spin from platinumgames (another quote):

--- They were playing a demo of the game during the podcast, and they said Platinum added a gameplay element. Since you can cut anything, thy added something that would allow you to enjoy the "taste" of that freedom (??? Drink or eat the enemies???)---

You dont understand, watch it again, its written by the same person, he scratched and started from zero.

Platinum asked him/Kojima to do that because the other story was restricting lots of things, gameplay being one of them.

Being asked to write a different story by Platinum is not t he same as being written by Platinum themselves, thats my point, story is by Kojima staff still.

Unless I watched something completly different and you know something I don't lol.

@IRAIPTOIR:

Ur correct sir! I stand corrected. Platinum asked THEM to change it.

I read the text so many times and I see now that I read that part wrong.

Even in my previous comment above, it says so!!!

I quote my quote: They gave the previous plot to Platinum, but Platinum ended up ASKING <--- to write it all again from scratch

Sorry IRAIPT0IR u were right!!

*stands in the corner and puts on "Im stupid hat".

Wall running, slicey-dicey finisher moves... Platinum must have played Ninja Gaiden 2 for inspiration. The only problem is that NG is very smooth, but the action in Rising looks choppy

I think they just showed a pre-rendered idea before and then realised it wasn't possible to make a game where you can cut everything. I mean this trailer looked great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtM3PGyiQUc
But imagine how hard it would be to not just model the outside but also the inside of a detailed model. That aspect of the game seems to have been downplayed now.
