Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

The game won't be out until a month but EA and Crytek continue to feed gamers with a new gameplay video of Crysis 2 from their "experience" series. Like the last part (Road Rage) it's about the campaign, but this time on the Semper Fi or Die level captured on the PS3.

Vids seems to be quite compressed...but I wouldnt say that. The skyrim trailer looks great indeed, though

Even if it won't reach PC level graphics, this is still the best looking open world FPS on consoles. You can't compare it to linear games.

Crysis isn't one big sandbox, just very large levels.

Well, the levels in Crysis 2 are much more compact compared to Crysis 1 (probably because of memory limitations) and are very linear. Yes, I have already tasted the game, so don't ask me how I know.
Still, can't wait for my PC-nano edition AND my PS3-edition to play it in 3D.
Crysis 1, at least, was still pretty linear- it just had very wide "corridors" with a limited objective order variety. It was by no means open-world, and as the game progressed, it narrowed quite a bit. Crysis 2 might have narrowed it down some, but there is much more verticallity to make up for the lack of, er, horizonticallity... uh, yeah...

"I have already tasted the game, so don't ask me how I know." -- seriously? Do people think this is better than saying, "Yes, I pirated the beta"?

One thing that I like in that video was this...

Playstation 3 multiplayer demo coming soon
PC multiplayer demo on March 1

That was the best part of the video because then we know how it truly looks and runs on our selected platform than looking at a video.

either the footage released isnt great quality or something may of gone wrong. It looks very washed out...and the framerate looks like it takes abit of a dive at times.

Nope, cant say i was all that impressed with that

doesnt look very good imo. has all the same problems i've seen in ALL the footage so far across all platforms.... mind-bogglingly stupid enemy AI (made worse with an ability that makes you completely, and utterly invisible) and some of the worst close rangle pop-in i've seen all gen. a waterfall appears out of nowhere for christ sake. if that isnt bad LOD i don't know what is.

it's crysis 2, the sequel to THE best looking game EVER!, it should be blowing minds, but the more i see the less i like it. there was a point when i was open to buying it, but after most of the video's have looked incredibly boring, i just can't do it. it's one of those games i can imagine picking up on a whim, only to regret it since deep down i know it wasnt the game for me. perfect dark zero was the last game that did that. they're rare, but crysis 2 looks like another game that will do it. i'll buy it based on the hype, and the reviews (which i can only assume will be possitive?) and then hate myself for wasting 40 notes that i could have better spent on something like deus ex 3 (assuming that turns out any good).

There's definitely a lot of compression and stuff.. I wouldn't worry too much until there's better media (and the demo).

Even though the MP isn't really that great, I still look forward to the PC demo so I can see how it runs and stuff.

It is not open but you can play the game differently like all out attack or just sneak, shoot etc ... the gfx are good. In the night it looks best.

I know, maybe if you could be completely invisible by hiding in tall grass no matter how fast you are moving, that would be better :P I agree that the LOD change could be better, but KZ3 has all of these issues (at least the LOD is a little better, but it's not close to as seamless as in 2), and you just jizz all over that. KZ is much more narrow in it's "corridors", but that's ok too, right?
These things are all forgivable, given the old hardware, but the game still looks great, and you have to poo-poo it for some reason. Crysis's style of gameplay is much different (ie, slower paced, more tactical), and that may not appeal to some...

i'd much rather the stealth suit not be infallible, most stealth in games only work at distance, once you approach an enemy, they see or hear you. making it an option, but not an uber, "i'm gonna stay cloaked for as long as i possible can because i'm practically immune" ability. it needs a weakness. and from what i've seen, the stealth in crysis doesnt have one. you can run up to a guy and shake your cock in his face and he's oblivious to it. that's stupid imo. where does the intensity in combat come from if you can just vanish into thin air at any given moment?

enemies shooting at you, pinning you into cover...oh, i'll just turn stealth on and walk over to them non nonchalantly and stab them in the neck...

the enemies are sending out search parties to find me...oh, i'll just turn stealth on and walk right past them to somewhere much safer...

it's one of the most unbalanced abilities i've seen in a game. and it's purely down to the fact it's so perfect at doing it's job. even halo doesnt give you completely undetectable stealth. you approach an enemy and he hands your ass you you on a plate.

also, i've not played K3 yet. so i can't judge. but i havnt seen anywhere near as many technical issues in the demo or the beta nor any footage i've seen. maybe i will when i finally pick it up. who knows. but you can bet your ass if it's a piss poor as this i'll be voicing my opinion on the matter.

Yea, I see what your saying. The graphics in Crysis 2 are pretty darn impressive. But, artistically, the game as a whole looks overtly bombastic and hyper violent and offers nothing other than what you see. Skyrim, on other hand, looked inspiring.

As a PS3 player I must give kudos to Crytek for releasing PS3 footage in response to all those who said they wouldn't because it may be so bad.

Will it be the best looking game ever on the PS3 like Crytek boasted? NO!
Will it look as good as the other top PS3 exclusives? NO!
Will it be the best looking multiplatform game ever? Maybe!

It was daft of them to talk the talk before they had walked the walk. Will the Blu-ray hold 15-20GBs of glorious gaming? NO! Just enough to fill the old DVD. It will not be a fully optimised PS3 game but rather a decent port and we must reserve judgement until the game is released.

For myself I will get the PC version because it is the cheapest and a PC game at heart. And I will play it with my PS3 controller!

The PC version is no longer cheaper anyway, at least in the US. EA's increased all of their PC prices to match console prices. That started with Medal of Honor.
