Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft sent us this first video of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands showing the game in motion. And needless to say this is quite a return to the original Sands of Time game.

Great! Always loved the original Sands of Time the most and nice to see that the developers see it the same way. And the element freezing mechanics were showed right in the moment when I thought "This looks too much like Sands of Time! Where is the innovation?".

Looks great! I'm glad they're returning to the Sands of Time type of game...
The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the prince looks generic as ****...

doubters be damned, this looks a million times better then POP08. the freezing water think looks awesome. the prince looks a bit scary tho, like michael jacksons later years. has a very odd face.

and whats this, a ubisoft game with screen tearing? who would'a thunk it...lol

overall i'm impressed, it's back to what pop was and should have always been.

freezing water gimmick is a great addition can't wait to see how they use the other elements. I felt that the other POP's lost their way and focused too much on combat and not enough on expanding the puzzle elements, this still has combat but the puzzle elements seem to be evolving. The first true sequel?

Looks very promising. The animations make it stand out imo but Ubi never had a problem with that... screen tearing is their nemesis.

I don't know, but there's something very funky about those animations. Definitely not the level of quality I would've expected from this game. Also, the character looks, I don't know, bland or something. He also looks a bit short and stocky.

I remember back in the day (Sands of Time) everything looked so smooth and gracefull, the animations were way ahead of the pack. Now, I don't get that vibe. They look alright, nothing special.

Too bad, but I'm sure the game could still be awesome. The combat has always been very satisfying. Thank GOD they went back to the roots after their most recent joke attempt...

You know, i want this to be great but i won't even hope for it to be as great as Sands of Time. It's easy to talk the talk in a trailer, let's see how the game holds up for real before assuming that it's awesome :P

tbh, i dont expect it to be as good as sands of time either, but as long as it's as good as two thrones or even warrior within, it'll still be vastly superiour to POP08. so i'm happy.

I know i'm probably in the minority here but i actually think that Warrior Within is the second best :P
It had the combat, it had great environments and good platforming. What it lacked was good story and characters but i'm prepared to look the other way on that one.

Though i agree that even a shot at something similar to Sands of Time is a vast improvement over the shite they released most recently :P

i really liked the last prince of persia, and to be honest would of prefered they continued that story..as it was a beautiful platformer.

I am interested to see more of this though.. i've heard they're planning 40+ enemys thrown at you.. so theres obviously going to be alot more combat to it. Funny really that their focus with combat is the complete opposite of how they were promoting the last PoP to us - 1v1 combat = depth

The whole using the elements sounds promising too.. though why he's not slip slidding all over the place when freezing water i don't know..as the visuals certainly give the impression it freezes to ice.

as a game, i agree. (i really didnt like playing as the dark prince in two thrones since you constantly lost health, made everything you did feel pressured) but at the same time i hated the general "vibe" of warrior within, it went from a light, beautifull, charismatic and distinctly persion feeling game, to a teen angst, rebelious and generally emo feeling game. platforming and fighting was great tho...although it focused on combat TOO much imo, more so then both SOT and two thrones. and seeing as combat was arguably the weakest element of the series. it just put a bit of a downer on the experience as a whole.

Exactly, at some scenes it almost looked like a simple HD remake of SoT which would be quite disappointing.

First of all, I have to say that I think this game looks great. I probably won't be getting it all full price, since there's nothing that strikes me as new and innovative that I have to play this at release. But still, I'll be playing this since I enjoy the PoP games.

With that said, I think it was wrong to do a game so similar to Sands of Time. Time (no pun intended) has moved on and they shouldn't look back at the old trilogy. I really liked a lot of things about the latest PoP; the art style, the music, the atmosphere. Heck, I even enjoyed the characters somewhat. Didn't like the non-linear gameplay though, so I'd rather see them continuing the last game but in a more linear style with some tight story development.

I'm inclined to disagree. While I absolutely loved the art style of the most recent PoP, I thought the general gameplay was pretty awful. I really forced myself to play as much of it as I could, but the tedium was far too great. Going back to something closer to SoT makes a ton of sense considering it's often regarded as the best PoP game.

If they are using Anvil why they didn't make it with some insane graphics and some inovations and stuff, that water freezing looks very nice and it would look awesome with the engine they are using.

It seems Im missing a point here so forgive me if what I said comes somehow ignorant or something.

How are they missing the point if they are trying to bring the series back from the depths of suckiness, represented by the latest game, to the utter glory that was SoT!? SoT was and still is, one of the best games ever and if they strive to go back to those roots to make another game in that spirit, how can your fault them?

Well I think the graphics look pretty darn awesome, but then I guess I must have pretty low standards.

I guess you could say I'm a graphics slut; I'll take anything.
