Video PC Wii U Xbox 360 PS3

Project CARS is not the kind of game you can play with all graphical options maxed out if you don't own a killer PC. So when you dare try to use Fraps to capture some footage, you're bound to make some concessions, especially if you're not Miguel and your PC is a bit more humble, like mine in fact. Here are four short replay videos in which I either used my own camera angles - using the free cam - or those of the game itself - basically those which are not still. Obviously, it's hard to expect something as impressive as in the latest trailer since I couldn't have smooth framerate when capturing with the game set in the highest settings - I can't even play at 60 fps when everything is maxed out anyway. That being said, until Miguel finally starts his engine and propose his own gameplay footage, it'll have to do.

Are the driving physics of this game good? Whats the approach of it?

The driving physics are a work in progress. They have been improving a lot lately though. They aim to make them as realistic as possible and have been getting detailed feedback from race car drivers Ben Collins and Nicholas Hamilton.

I don't get enough fps to make a movie like Jonz either though.

The Nordschleife looks very good and pretty accurate in this one. Driving physics not so much tbh, which you can see in the last 5 secs of replay#4 entering the Karussell. Not even with a completely wrong setup a car would behave like that there. I have driven a total of around 100 laps irl on this great track and will go there again next week. But since the driving physics are a work in progress, there is still hope :)

The game looks so dead and lifeless though. THat's always been my beef with PC driving sims, and it doesn't look like that's ever going to change. A shame.

I'm not sure what you mean by dead and lifeless m8, i mean it is only a racing game after all?

It's a problem with the track modeling, not the car physics. Previously the Karussell was almost flat in the game builds, so this week while trying to figure out the proper level of bumpiness of that corner, they've gone to the other extreme - too high virtual bumps :)

There is a driver from the VLN series, that is giving feedback on the Nordschleife and on this specific case, so I guess they'll figure it out till the next weekly build.

This is just an example of the community involvement in this project, and how pCars development works in general.

Plenty of arcade console racers to keep you satisfied no need to have a go at sims.

I agree for the most part, But there are some great touches I want to see more of, like the leaves kicking up, and some micro-debris on the roads :)

That sounds promising, thanks for the info. A VLN driver (Wolfgang Weber) actually has done the suspension setup on my car on the NS. So my hopes have increased even further :)

Rumour has it, that this will also be published on XO and ps4 instead of the current systems. Ian Bell from SlightlyMad said so at least.

Shadows were ticking along in one of the vids, tree's are 2d.

Should be a demo out for people to try.

No, but the game hasn't been releasded yet anyway. There were plans for a PS3 version (and a 360 one) of the game at some point, but now that the game has been announced on next gen consoles, I don't know if anything has changed.
