Images Xbox 360 PS3

Since it's the week-end, let's catch up on what we missed in the previous days - weeks even - with four images of Grand Theft Auto V. It's not much, but it will have to do for now. Unsurpisingly, Rockstar announced they would not be present at this year's E3.

This game is becoming so much more than 'just' a new GTA. The things they are bringing to this game makes a hardcore fan like me incredibly happy, holy shit man. Underwater exploration with treasures to find, sharks on the lookout and waiting to get a bite off you, NPC divers will even give you a hard time by trying to steal that treasure. A huge countryside with a shitload of wildlife with hunting activities, properties are back and i can go on. Crazy!!!!

Somewhat annoyingly, this game looks absolutely massive and so involving - exactly what I don't need right before the next-gen consoles hit!

Probably mine too. But then again, what else is there for the 360 this year?

I'm liking the look of those trees this time round. This is this is the first GTA where i'm looking forward to the story more than randomly running over innocents

surely did on console, especially the sub-hd vaseline looking one. So much lost detail compared to something like sleeping dogs.

I was pretty well sold on the game from the start at least on the single player stuff. I think the thing they really need to prove now is the multiplayer. It was both amazing and very lacking in GTA IV and I'm hoping to see them expand upon that stuff without taking away what made GTA IV online so goofy and fun.

Rockstar has posted that they will be reviling multiplayer details very soon.

This makes sense, they seemed to let other developers have there fun at E3 then make a splash afterwards.

My only concern for this is that it might end up being too big for it's own good. San Andreas is lauded as being the best GTA by many, but for me it was just far too expansive, and I eventually ended up getting a bit worn out with it's size in the end. I don't think I ever completed the game. They really do need to populate this with a lot of fun things to do, otherwise it could counteract what they are trying to do. GTA IV got slated for not having enough to do, this could end up having loads more to do, but the scale could overpower it all. We'll see.

yeah I really didn't take to San Andreas..bit too big and sparse. But the benefit of 3 characters is that it looks like almost 3 different words - each characters surroundings suiting their personality...least that's what I took away from the last videos. It looked like a good introduction to each part of the world.

Funny. Cause i remember a lot of screenshots looking goddamn ugly, where the waterpaint effect was even more visible than in the game itself. ANd while that effect was still very noticeable in the game itself, it never ever did look as ugly as a lot of those screenshots. No i actually remember all the trailers and shots very well, and the final game ended up looking on par/better.

I think the problem with San Andreas was that it had three cities, at least here they have a single city to build out from & hopefully achieve something more focused even if there are large sparse areas.

did you just compare GTA IV (a game that came out in 2008) to a game that came out less than a year ago? man, the xbox 360 was 2 years old when GTA IV came out and had a much larger world than sleeping dogs, more realistic animations, and way better physics. that comparison was just silly

nothing to do with that. PS3 version of GTAIV is a weak sub-HD iq, xbox 360 version isn't, but it still is washed out like bleach. Play a game like Sleeping dogs on console, and you still see wrinkles, textures, shaders on characters, and not a blob 3 feet away.

If nothing was done to the way the visuals are rendered (on console) then it's going tp look like shit again (compared to the clean pc version). And i'm not even talking about the horrid frame-rate.
