Rockstar Games has just shared the news on their website that Red Dead Redemption 2 is now coming in Spring 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Formally revealed in October 2016 along with the game's first trailer, the title was initially expected to launch this Fall. To ease the pain, new screenshots inside.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

It's hard to judge the visual quality by only these images, which to be honest, don't look very good image quality wise, not the content of the images. Would much had prefered a trailer instead, but that might have made the news even worse. I'm sure the final game will be fantastic.
"This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.

Going by that last phrase, it implies that they will share more details - possibly a trailer and/or gameplay - this summer, which could be at E3 or at a later date. But it would be nice to have these details in the news, instead of finding out through other sites.
Either way, thanks for all the work you do and keep it up.
Completely intentional in my opinion. They'll follow the first Red Dead Redemption's artistic direction, the game was willingly given a sort of messy, blurry, dusty look, the game was never intended to look clean. I think we'll have something similar with the sequel, though I'm not sure it is appropriate to comment IQ on "screenshots" such as these, it seems no one at Rockstar thought about it when releasing them, they were only trying to give us a grasp of the artistic feel of the title. But that's just my opinion ;)
Max Payne 3 is still as of today one of the most realistic games I've played in terms of physics and even character modelling. Max Payne was gorgeous, you could see the veins in the arms, the muscles twitching when firing, jumping or talking... That PC version was stunning! Max was unbalanced when he had a two-hand weapon in his left hand while firing with a gun in his right hand, the bullets trajectories and physics were perfect, there's not much to compare Max Payne 3 and GTA V/Red Dead Redemption in my opinion, except for Rockstar developing.
