Video Xbox One

The second episode of Woman vs Wild is here in a great quality thanks to the Xbox team once again. The new gameplay video of Rise of the Tomb Raider deals with the guerrilla combat options available to face the Trinity forces. Less than two weeks before the game's release.

To the Xbox team and Gamersyde, thank you so much for this video in high quality. You both rock!

I'm thinking of replaying Tomb Raider (2013) before Rise of the Tomb Raider comes out, I have been thinking about replaying it ever since finishing it for the 1st time 2 years ago, and there's no better opportunity to do so than 1 week before RotTR's launch, plus it will be great to start RotTR right after it.

I can hardly wait for both Rise of the Tomb Raider and Fallout 4, and I hope you guys do some livestreams of both if you guys manage to get a copy of them ahead of the release date.

while i understand the logic, you might burn yourself out given they're very similar. i've done the same with other franchises and when you get round to the new one you end up super indifferent about it.

I had few doubts few weeks ago but now it has a better rank on my wishlist. Lara is a little bit too sexy with that voice of Camilla but not a dealbreaker. Story and the early reviews will help me to decide if I jump into Lara's new adventure

That is why I have not replayed a Fallout game for a few years now. I wanted my hunger level to reach maximum before FO4, and I think I have made the right decision.

I just finished replaying Tomb Raider 2013 on Xbox One as I got the Defintive Edition for free with gold. I don't regret doing it, I am pumped for Rise of TR knowing that there will hopefully be WAY more tombs.

Looking Sweet, this video was also a little more informative. something about this video gives me the feeling it's going to lead into the original games. the first and second game videos talk about her transcending as she gets older. I wonder if they'll remake the original games.

That's too long of a wait for the official price drop, we might be hearing about the next gen consoles then. And i'm sure it will end up there at 4k.... and if you want THAT for cheap you'll have to wait extra. You have the option of finding it pre-owned but If you're looking for a lesser wait you could just pick it up on PC.

Even if it comes with all DLC it's penultimate compared to the inevitable next gen. Or even compared to PC if you will, which exceeds 1080p 30 fps. it's not definitive until it's 60fps.

I might just reconsider the wait for the PC version, and save my self spending extra eventually getting on PC. I haven't put anything down on it yet. It's tempting though on XB1, It's a nice technical statement for the XB1 to say the least.

The PC version might get some extra features not achievable anywhere else....not sure of that though, it's to be seen. The XB1 version features BTAO, TressFX, tessellation, async volumetric lighting + Other optimizations. Which those are the settings i'm looking to game at 60fps. The game before wasn't optimized very well at ultra settings for Nvidia Cards, it was more optimized for AMD cards with TressFX + tessellation.

The next Tomb Raider game is most likely going to be optimized again with AMD. The same with Deus Ex: MD, that game is advertised with AMD as well.

I'm still thinking.

I think you're overthinking. Nvidia cards smashed Tomb Raider. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2015-vga-charts...

That link is for the "high" preset settings for 2160p, not Ultra. there's Ultra and there's Ultra + TressFX, If i'm not mistaken.

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2015-vga-charts...
TomsHardware usually does Ultra without TressFX, do to it's Optimization concerns.

The Nvidia chips of "now" not "then" could handle Tomb Raider 2013 a lot better. Gamersyde had to use SLI 680s to get 1080p 60fps on the Tomb Raider reboot, with ultra settings.

(Ultra + tessellation + TressFX)
http://www.gamersyde.com/news_our_pc_videos_of_tom...

And even still the performance was all over the place. It's probably not going to be that bad this time around, not unless newer exclusive settings are introduced.

Are you gaming at 2160p or higher? Top end Nvidia cards are still averaging 100+ fps on this engine at that high of a resolution, and at 1080p/ultra single cards are pushing 170fps so... I think you'll be fine with whatever card you have AMD or Nvidia as long as you have something like a 970 or r390 (or better).

Rise of the tomb raider is running on a presumably enhanced version of this exact engine, so you can expect performance to be similar.

You're right, your post just saved me some coin. Had my trigger finger on the Nathan Drake Collection, but decided to wait. For some reason I have dodged playing Uncharted, thought I should play through the collection before UC4 is released, but like you said, if I do I'm probobly burned out when It's time to play UC4. Decided to stay away from the collection for now and go fresh with UC4.

My PC will definitely be able to run it at Ultra, assuming it's well optimized and has no other features that kill performance. we'll see what the recommended requirements turn out.

probably for the best tbh. but then you havn't played any of the others which might not be the greatest in terms of recognizing characters, character development, character or story investment, or narrative wise. tough call tbh.

burn yourself out by playing 3 games that are similar before the new one?

or not be invested in the characters and story?

not sure what i'd do. i certainly wouldn't replay them if you had already though. that's going to burn yourself out even more since it's literally a re-tread.

tbh, 2016 looking too strong for ps4, so many jp exclusives
and some of the biggest sony 1st party exclusive as well, eg. uncharted, horizon, gt sports

and we may hear even more news from psx in December

So, for some ps fans, they even don't care when TR will release on ps4

Next gen console already ? You mean Wii U successor ? Also 4K will not be possible next gen. 1080P to 4K is probably too big of a performance hit. 1080P 60fps and more detail is something possible for sure.

1year late is not a big thing. If they have nice DLC planned and can include it. That will be good. With some many games coming out people choose just handful of them anyways. Some of the great games I played has come years after their actual release.

It's going to take 1 year for the game to land on ps4, it will be almost 2017 (2 months away). the game also isn't going to be $19.99 when it launches on ps4. it's most likely going to be launch price, with all the DLC, like Deus Ex on the WII-U. It took over a year for both Deus EX WII-U and Tomb Raider Definitive Edition to drop to $19.99.

2016 is only 2 months away, in 2016 the consoles will have 3 years left in their life Cycles. in late 2018 we'll most likely hear about the next gen. Rize of Tomb Raider on ps4 "might" have some months being super cheap before we hear about the next gen. but i'm pretty sure the game will end up being on the next XB and PS with higher quality.

Feel sorry for the folks that gotta wait a whole year to play this game. You folks will be missing out big time but I get it. Nonetheless, this game is looking like it will best the last one and most of us thought the last one was great. Can't believe its right around the corner. Already pre-ordered. Can't wait.

When there are so many other games coming out at the exact same time, its not a hard pill to swallow. Everything is going to be okay.
