After our first videos with 8 games running on Google's cloud gaming platform , today you can watch Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Final Fantasy XV, Metro Exodus and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Again, the videos were captured in 1440p via Chrome.

It doesn't seem we'll be able to catch a break any time soon, more games have received an Xbox One X update since yesterday, so here is more coverage in super high quality. Forza Motorsport 7 looks way cleaner than before it was patched, while Rise of the Tomb Raider offers several choices to choose from (some of which do not go without a few framerate issues). We're not quite sure how Dead Rising 4 benefits from the patch it was given, but whatever it is, it does not make the game look especially better. Framerate may be smoother overall, there might be a small bump on resolution over the original release, but we don't know exactly. The game is HDR compatible now though.
Note: Except for the Forza 7 video and the first 2 TR videos, the footage we posted has no sound due to a technical issue we didn't spot before recording.

We have been allowed to capture the first level of the Xbox One X version of Rise of the Tomb Raider at the Xbox Showcase in London a few weeks ago. Here it is split into 4 videos, showing the 3 video modes in action: 4K enriched (Better textures and SSAO among others, non native), 4K native and 1080p 60 fps.
We try to show the difference a mode does by switching from one to the other during the video. There is no specific video for each mode.
Update 2: Added a second and final video reencoded to HEVC so you can watch it directly on your 4K TV.

The enhancements for the Xbox One X version of Rise of the Tomb Raider (developed in partnership with Nixxes Software) have been unveiled by Square Enix. As expected, players will be able to choose from three modes: Native 4K, Enriched Visuals and High Frame Rate. More details inside plus screenshots, trailer is not available outside Youtube unfortunately.

Here is another batch of GTX 1080 videos with this time Rise of the Tomb Raider and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. As you'll see, maxing out these games does not always guarantee a steady framerate, especially when you start to go above 1080p. If you don't mind a few drops here and there, you can enjoy Lara's latest adventure at 1440p, but the rise in resolution (or video settings) is much more impactful on Ubisoft's title. Again, it means you will have to choose between image fidelity or resolution if what you care the most (and you should) is framerate.
Note: The settings at the beginning of the first TR video are maxed out at 1440p with SMAA. The settings at the beginning of the second are the same as those at the end of the first.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was finally released on PC a few days ago and we just had the time to capture some 1080p/60fps footage for you guys. The game is maxed out, except for textures as they require a 6 Go GPU with the very high setting. We also couldn't go above SMAA without hitting the framerate, but if Miguel gets his copy next week and can do better, we'll post more videos eventually.

Trailer PC

While the Baba Yaga DLC is out for the Xbox consoles, the PC version of Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming tomorrow. If you need one more look at it, Square Enix has released a PC tech trailer and new screenshots.

GSY Review PC Xbox One

PC players will soon be able to discover Rise of the Tomb Raider but until then, the Xbox One version has been granted some more content with the release of the first story-driven DLC, Baba Yaga: Temple of the Witch. After completing it in less than two hours (and we were slow), we can say it is quite a disappointment, even at its price ($9.99/€9.99). While Crystal Dynamics could have pushed the hallucinogenic aspect of the DLC, there are actually very few WTF sequences (two actually). Also disappointing is the fact that the game forces you to backtrack to the Soviet Installation hub two times to loot some ingredients in an area we know by heart. The new story element isn't interesting either, with a particularly ridiculous ending (have your tissues ready). The main attraction of this DLC is the new area to explore with a new puzzle to solve, but it's not much.
Note: If you intend to play the DLC, just watch the first two videos.
