Saleen is the next manufacturer to be featured in Test Drive Unlimited, with the car model S7. Atari released some images (with more to come today/tomorrow) and a great trailer, showing the release date 5th of September for the US. A new boxart was also unveiled recently.


Atari writes:
A true supercar, the Saleen S7 is capable of over 200 miles per hour. Zero-to-60 time is under three seconds. The S7 is designed to compete with the fastest, quickest, best handling, most luxurious grand touring cars in the world, while providing a distinctly American driving experience for the fortunate few who will own one. In Test Drive Unlimited, you can race this awesome machine at top speeds all over Oahu.

i think this game is a new benchmark for online racing games! wat an achievent and such a massive game all squizzed onto a dvd! who needs blu-ray lol

Of course. This new one we have Valentino Rossi or something, is just not up to scratch, very nice bike though.

Shot number 3 could be the FIRST actual framebuffer grab of this game TO DATE.

And even it seems to have polygonal AA (multisampling) on, which as I've said on numerous occations, does NOT smooth out texture shimmer (reflection etc congestion on face surfaces), 2bit alpha edges etc etc.

Only SUPERSAMPLING and lately so called adaptive AA can do FSAA the way some people think its always done, and supersampling is out of the question (aside from 640x480) and possibly so is adaptive AA.

Now that doesnt mean you cant do tricks and gimmicks to mimic supersampling etc. FNR3 did it all quite well. (soft alpha on ropes, depth blur and basic multisampling)

One of my fav. cars ever..the S7 just screams class. Nice. Nice to see an actual screenshot in the bunch too..though it seems the image quality hasn't really changed much since the E3 Demo, unfortunately.

wow. there was some dignified sliding&drifting. Could fysics engine been upgraded since demo what those are actually possible? If so, good :)
