Xbox 360

Black Lion Studios has announced Shadow Harvest, to be released in Spring 2009 on PC and Xbox 360. The game, a 3rd-person tactical action, is set in year 2025 and lets you follow the story of two characters - a stealthy kind of girl, and the gun combat specialist. You'll find more information inside but also some impressive images which, as the developers points out, "are not post-processed".

Quoting Black Lion Studios announcement:
Shadow Harvest is a highly immersive 3rd-person tactical action game set in the year 2025 on various current and future points of conflict around the globe. The game is in development for PC and XBOX 360. Featuring dual character control, amazingly realistic graphics and a refreshingly different storyline, Shadow Harvest is a completely new interpretation of the tactical-action genre. Being an ISA* agent, the first character, Myra Lee, has a background in espionage and stealth operations, while the other character, Aron Alvarez, is a hard-boiled close combat specialist of US Army's Delta Force. Both characters are deployed as elite black-ops agents on various hot spots worldwide and behind enemy lines to cooperatively complete covert operations.

To optimally achieve all mission goals, the player needs to combine Myra's stealth skills, athletic abilities and cleverness with Aron's blunt open battle approach. In many situations the nail biting about whether to go in hot with guns blazing or to use suppression techniques and alternative paths is up to the player. Thanks to its open level design with multi-paths and optional secondary objectives, Shadow Harvest also offers great replayability

With Myra and Aron having a different style, a totally different approach on combat tactics and (obviously) a different gender, one big focus of the game are the witty yet snorty dialogues between the two agents.

Despite its highly detailled and realistic look, Shadow Harvest does not strive to be a hardcore military sim nor does it want to be just another dual-character-shooter. Featuring real stealth and action-adventure elements, its refreshingly new mix of features allows never before seen possibilities in interactive storytelling and lets the player dive into a highly thrilling storyline in an unforgettable immersive and unique gaming experience.

Next-gen is brown.

Other than that, though, it looks pretty damn good.

The problem with making a game like every other game is it shows how much your programmers / artists suck.

For example, GRAW1&2, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Call of Duty 4 do EVERYTHING this game does, but better, and are out now.

Looks like someone just blatantly ripped off of MGS4. Middle East setting, check. Over saturated filter, check. Special agent and a bunch of soldiers, check. Robotic weapons, check. The only thing they didn't rip off is MGS4's awesomeness.

I wonder how they got the idea to fuck the whole game up by adding so much bloom that it makes anyone who looks at it wonder if it isn't time to get a new pair of glasses. Except for the ridiculous amount of bloom it just looks plain uninspired. We've all seen it many times before and this game doesn't even do what it does all that well judging from these screens.

To say im tired of these derivative depressing ass fake military shooters would be an understatement.

And who the hell are "Black Lion Studios" talk about trying to make yourself seem decent by having people think your someone else (Lionhead studios anyone? Look at the bloody logo for christ sake! Even thats a rip off! Might as well have called themselves Rocstar)

Pretty much every shooter is based in the middle east now, and the whole brown crap was long around before MSG4

games have no more originality in them people so just live with it. the only thing developers can do is make a game in a setting that hasn't been overused (like world war II) and develop it. Crysis wen in a tropical setting which we dont see much, Left 4 Dead is using zombies but we dont see many zombie games, Call of duty 4 brought the middle easter setting to life, and Halo 3 used aliens coming to Earth. they're all great games and they all use settings that we have seen before in movies or past video games. the reason why these games succeed is because they have excellent gameplay.

this game has a chance because its not just another modern setting war game and it looks to have some sci-fi stuff going on in it. no that original but still a lot of potential in the making of a great game.

denied ops all over again, who started this "he's/she's the stealthy Sniper and i'm the demolition man" game trend? nothing here looks inspired, not to mention both characters look as generic as possible. seems companies will continue to use bloom lighting as long as there's a sucker out there who will equate it to awesome graphics ..nobody learned from COD4 obviously.

Martin J. Schwiezer also wrote the initial concept for Reakktor's upcoming Sci-Fi MMORPG Black Prophecy and was the executive producer of the ultra-realistic racing sims GTR and GTR2.

Propaganda? I'm pretty sure these aren't endorsed or made by the US Government, which would automatically disqualify them as propaganda. Some of us are actually PROUD of our country. Sorry you have to live in such a miserable place where that doesn't apply.

It's *at least* 15 months left till release, by that standard, I think it looks pretty good. The studio was created in early 2007, so it has probably only been under development for one year.
