games that do not show much before they're launched tend to fail to attract enough interest and eventually flop !

If the sniping is good, I dont care about the rest. Graphics is nice, not the best ok, but nice. One thing.....when he is setting up his position in the trailer, he makes the biggest mistake for sniper ever.........sticking his barrel out of the window. :-D

This rule may be approriate in movies but i wouldn't be so sure if this applies in RL too, the muzzle flash of a rifle would light up a room and it's window opening very visibly for a split second, not to mention the insane bang inside. But when you're out for one shot only, this may still be the smartest thing to do.

It applies for real life too. Sometimes sniper shoots even through small opening in the wall and muzzle flashes are no longer big issues with modern rifles with suppressors of such effects. On longer distances and in urban scenario, You dont have a chance of finding out the sniper position.

It's a much bigger thing now, as a lot of sniper teams set up in an urban location. If someone on the street sees any part of your rifle, that can bring a lot of unwanted attention on your location.
That being said, it's far from rule number one. Rule number one for a hide is contrasting with the interior of the hide. If firing through a windows, you might use a dark mesh to make the room look dark from a distance, while allowing you to see and fire out of the window. This alleviates issues with shadows causing contrast.
Snipers are trained to look for things like exposed parts of rifles when counter sniping, so anything being exposed is a problem. A good sniper will be able to spot that kind of stuff if they sweep over the area.
