I've been invited at a private presentation of Gears of Wars yesterday morning with Cliffy B and Mark Rein. Nothing new was shown gameplay wise but Mark had the excellent idea to show off the environments a bit. So here it is in this short video. A full transcript of the interview will be online this week.

Damn, looks even better now that we got to see it recorded with Blims new camera ! Also this seems to run really smooth compared to earlier. If this is first gen game that doesnt even use nearly all the juice in 360, were going to be truly blown away with titles coming 06 - xx !

Simply stunning.

The lighting difference between inside and out is perfect, and the little motion blur when you turn quickly adds a nice little detail.

It's up. But the screen, the GoW-footage itself, is really small. I guess I could have cut out the stuff around it and made the footage a little bit larger, but it's too late now I guess. You can zoom in like 200% without loosing that much quality.

in another interview they sais that it was only using one core at present

Is there no audio?

It doesn't seem to play on Winamp, yes, I have ffdshow installed.

Can you tell me what Camera you're using to take this footage with? it's great quality also are you using a tripod aswell?

Yes, tripod plus a HDV camera (Sony HDR HC1). The GoW footage is definitely one of the worst so far though.
