Mirror's Edge is playable at Electronic Arts' booth, and while you've certainly all seen this level dozens of times before I'm still putting this video online since for once it's the 360 version running and not the PS3 one. Old build too.
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2008-10-10 13:24:41 In reply to KukukThe sticks are shifted, which helps your coordination.
On the PS-controller, your hands tend to operate symmetrically, because the positioning of your hands is symmetrical when you use the sticks simultaneously.
Ergonomic fact.
Of course you can play fps on the ps at least as good as on the box, but for an unexpierienced player, it takes more practice.
Commented on 2008-10-10 13:26:32 In reply to citizenxI rather prefer the PS1 Pad than playing with the 360 one. It just feels so cheap. The buttons, the analog stiks. And i hate the RT and LT triggers. I know it cuz i buyed one to play gears on pc but instead i switched to the ds3 with unoffical drivers which just feels better in the hands.
Commented on 2008-10-10 13:30:04I have played alot of FPS games with the PS3 controller and I haven't had any issues with it.
The only thing that is bad with the controller (for me atleast) is that the analogs can break get loose very fast if you "abuse" them.
For example COD4, tap in L3 and then push forward for sprinting...doing that alot will make the left analog worn out.
Besides, dont say Kukuk is "unbeliveably biased" if he says DS is good.
When it comes to FPS, its a personal prefrence of what they prefer in terms of controller.
For me I like both DS or 360, doesnt matter I will still play good or bad depending on how good I am in the game.

Thats what they call accustomization.
I think its a shame that that sony's controller doesn't really evolve.
I do allready have small hands and still my thumbs are too long to move the PS-sticks comfortably. Whats more, I cant grab the controller with my entire hand. My little finger always dangels around lazyly, because the "horns" are too short.
@topic:
I wonder how long it takes to finish the game when you rush like that...

If you use and are comfortable with both, then win win I guess.
In the past I found myself going from a DC to a PS1 (DC broke, uncle gave me PS with all his games.. couldn't say no really!) and damn that transition wasn't smooth. But after a while I got used to it.
Anyway I'll cut myself off there before I ramble on too much.
ONTOPIC: Can't wait to get my hands on this game! :)

Commented on 2008-10-10 16:41:09But but but [Insert] Controller is better!!! Really because of [un-researched biased comment].
I like the DS3, I just do... Mostly since all the buttons actually work on it. (Hmmm was that biased?)
Commented on 2008-10-10 17:49:07I'm still not sold on this game though. Its technically beautiful, and looks refreshing..and no doubt plays refreshingly. But that by no means secures it as an instant modern classic.
I get concerned alittle with the gameplay mechanics when it comes to actually fighting against your enemy in it. The AI doesnt seem up to scratch, and again with dices last effort that was also plauged by bad AI thats alittle concerning. But i also feel that the AI's possibly dumbed down to make allowences for the controls...just as a wii game would do. By that i mean that the gameplay mechanics of this are totally different to a regular fps which would allow reaction times for you to take cover and focus on a target. This being more a first person platformer the hit detection seems alot more forgiving and the enemys dumbed down to stand there and allow you to find them.
I guess i just hope it has alot more hidden depths, rather than shown all its cards in the very first level. Because i do get a sense that its more a racing game than anything else.

Commented on 2008-10-10 17:54:43Mirror's Edge looks rather cool but I can't help thinking the first person perspective will make the game harder to play and that there isn't enough there to carry the whole game. I'd really like to play a demo as I'm not pre-ordering it until I've tried it even though the concept interests me.
Commented on 2008-10-10 18:31:16anyway the game looks strangely cool.

Commented on 2008-10-10 20:48:06 In reply to KendogukOh yeah, and i can hook a mic to my 360 pad
The one thing my ps3 pad does have over the 360 one though is a better D pad.. something you really notice when trying to play street fighter HD on the 360

Commented on 2008-10-10 22:44:47Oh, just to add to the side-discussion...the PS3 controller is easily the worst out there along with the PS2 controller, it really is horrible. The 360 is definitely the best out there, it's pretty much perfect. Unfortunately, that's the only well built piece of hardware coming from MS. Sony easily has the upper hand in terms of quality hardware, except for the controller.
Edit: Oh yeah, 360 d-pad's crap. Fortunately I hate arcade fighters and the likes so it doesn't bother me as much.
