Microsoft released these images of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, and that should be the last game from their line-up this show. Update: New stage trailer from TGS added. Update 2: Added a quite uninteresting but also very colorful gameplay video.
Visuals are sweet, no complains there. But why they named this Banjo Kazooie is beyond me. It does not seem to share anything with the N64 classics except colorful art.

I think it looks pretty good, the vehicle creating stuff apeals to me. The openess of it makes it seem not as refined though. More of a LBP type open experience which is why it feels different from the n64 games.

Hmmm, nothing you say?
The two main characters - check!
The game's other main characters - check!
Collecting musical notes to open new doors to other areas - check!
Collecting jigsaw pieces to open new levels - check!
Banjo's opening hub level where his house and Grunties layer is - check!
Nostalgic revamped music from the original - check!
Wacky level and character design and gibberish speak - check!
Yeah, you're absolutely spot on. It's got nothing in common at all, does it?
It certainly DOES have the Banjo feel, very much so. Whether or not it should have focused on vehicles or not is a different matter, but it still looks like a very enjoyable game.
And $40 with the original free is very hard to argue with.
It looks great, but I agree with many others that there is too much emphasis on the vechicle creation, this could end up backfiring for Rare, they should have stuck with what people expected and wanted IMO, a classic platformer.
Damn, this looks so much better than kiddy brown turd, and a real game to boot! yes! Looks like it may even beat Kameo for best fantasy graphics to date. Maybe!
Sometimes these PR folk make weird calls, for instance Screenshot 5 looks like its from the xbox version of Conker, whilst screenshot 13 makes the game look great. Why release screen 5? WHY!!?
These look like actual buffer grabs too, which makes the game look even better!

Why ? Because they want to give fanboys a reason to bash the game and 360 obviously
Sigh some people just love to hate, It just is a new gameplay element, in DKC they also changed the Kongs and the way they played with every SNES incarnation. Didn't make me feel like it wasn't a DKC game at all!.
And there is still Platforming action in there, as is shown in the sevaral trailers out there. They just added something extra, and from what it looks it is going to be a HUGE game.
And for this price.... plus the original free of charge, I hardly think you can complain. By his noodly appendages! they even added stop and swop in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts together with the Original that is released on XBLA!
people keep complaining about platforming. This game has platforming, platforming with vehicles.
I bet had this game been exactly as the original people would've been complaining about it. Saying, "It outdated," or "This game is exactly the same as the original." Damn, do people need to be guided through every step of their life. No wonder companies decide what 's best for people.
If you want the old school platforming then you should've bought those games before companies decided the genre didn't produce a high enough return.

im pretty sure if this played like the better banjo of old, people wouldnt be complaining about anything. i buy platform games expecting a platformer shockingly enough, not fly around in a vehicle.
Didn't they mentioned when creating the game, the levels were so big, they needed to implement vehicles to move through it? I want to play a Banjo-Kazooie game just as much as many of you. They know what they're doing. Let's just wait and see for ourselves if it is a truly wonderful Banjo-Kazooie game.

Don't be so sure. Most people like to bash Rare games just for the sake of it. Even most people despise the idea of a collectathon like the original BK games, so that wouldn't have been the best idea. Most gamers don't even know what those games were about, so I don't think the new BK concept alienates anyone apart from a bunch of nostalgic hardcore players.
And for the buying platform games expecting a platformer... that's some twisted logic. Just because the games has a title involving BK doesn't mean that the gameplay has to be exactly the same as the previous games. By that logic, every spin-off should be deemed as a bad game.
We have known what the game is going to be about for quite a long time. Rare haven't been secretive about it. They don't sell it as a traditional platformer. Yes, it has platforming elements, but it's not a platformer, at least not in the traditional sense of the term. Still, there are many people who just keep complaining about something that was never there to being with.
I would love it if people stopped complaining about what the game is not and they started judging it for what it actually is. The fact that a game has vehicles doesn't make it immediately better or worse. It depends on the whole gameplay design. It it's broken, it will be an awful game, but if it actually works, it could end up being a great game given the flexibility of the vehicle editor.
If it would be a Banjo Kazooie just like the others but in HD then people would complain. Now they've tried to open up their minds and be creative and letting you be creative and you complain. I'm really impressed by this game so far and how different and cool your vehicles can get after some time creating them. I think it's going to be really addicting, trying to make the ultimate vehicle.
Also, it's 40$, and guess what? You get the original Banjo Kazooie, in HD, the exact same game with traditional platforming like you're used to with Banjo Kazooie for FREE!! I know that this probably isn't news for you, but think about it again. You get a new fresh Banjo Kazooie game with new fresh ideas (and kick-ass visuals) and the original Banjo Kazooie (in HD) for those who want to be nostalgic or just doesn't wanna play Nuts & Bolts because of vehicle use for 40$. I hope I don't have to say that again 'cause I'm tired of it. Get the game and you'll have both a new and a classic Banjo Kazooie game on your Xbox 360 ready to play. I can't wait.

Looks awesome. I wonder fi you will be able to like, upload your vehicles (like with the blueprint pictures at the end) to show off? That would be awesome, as long as the quality is more like Halo 3 Screenshots and not like, Forza screenshots.

Ironic that in the original you had the ability to actually fly, and it was obligatory as a lot of jigsaw pieces could only be obtained that way. What's the difference? Kazooie doesn't look like she has the same abilities she had in the originals, so they worked another way around it by adding a fun and dynamic element to replace those. You have to build a plane to fly. So what? It's still a platform game at it's core. There's no point even debating that. It's just stupid.

Looks very nice, but I'm not sure about the game itself. It seems to be just a sandbox game and not a platformer the previous games were.
