Video PS3

One of the most disappointing thing about the TGS this year is the lack of a new Gran Turismo 5 build showing the things announced today like the dynamic weather. It didn't prevent DjMizuhara to get behind the wheel for a few races, starting with this video.

Honestly, this looks so out-dated. Graphics don't even come close to Dirt 2, the car physics look off, crashing against fishnet bounderies (really?). I am still waiting to see GT5 footage that blows me away, because so far, I have seen average stuff.
And what happened during the race? A solar eclips?
This is a joke post right? Right?

well considering that Dirt 2 is the greatest looking racing game currently and that it only houses about 50 cars I think that it is criminally ignorant to view it your way. Finally I can't totally judge from video but when GT5 is out and the reviews are giving graphics 10/10 you will the one eating horseshit because you are and will be wrong in the meantime buy alot of toothpaste and mint as we don't want you still to be chatting chatting shit after your revelation ocurs.

rally mode was never a strong point of the GT series...it is unfair to compare it to dirt 2 which runs at 30 fps on consoles anyway

the new weather stuff looks really great!! reminds me of PGR3

Go drive a real car and then come back to post.

I like rally so it should be lots of fun. To play for 2 min and try to drive like loeb is of course difficult but he should have just tried to keep car on track.

Can't say i disagree with Droezelke, a friend of mine who went to GC10 also told me he personally wasn't impressed at all that much with GT5, and he saw it with his own eyes. I guess opinions are not allowed when it's not 'OMFG, these graphics are out of this world' ....right?

Because I have an opinion like you. Who said I don't like GT? I am just not impressed by what I have seen so far from GT5. Is that a crime?
Stop bashing me.
your opinion sucks ass, like I said before GT has never been known for the rally mode. And dirt 2 is 30 FPS...

I mean I can go to any Halo threads and start saying how the environment looks bland compared to Crysis and what not but I don't!....

You said the gfx looks out-dated which is bad joke.
Eclipse WTF ? it is showing day/night cycle.
You can't just sit in and drive like pro in GT5. It takes lots of practice

I wouldn't say DIRT2 is a perfect rally game in any sense of the word.

It's a nice game, but it's just a rally game.

GT5 has alot of different racing types.

I get what your saying about fishnet boundaries, there's no run off etc.

I think you either get runoff with reset, or no runoff with boundaries.

Not quite sure which works best, reset is arcady imo. As is rewind, aka FORZA3.

I'm not saying the GT5 Rally tracks are perfect, they obviously need tweaking etc, that was gravel btw, not tarmac. So will have to see later on.

I don't think droezelke is talking shaders or lighting. I'm not sure I'd classify droez's beef graphical. He's talking about physics( which aren't blowing my hair back). I definitely agree that Dirt2 looks better, personally(even @ 30 fps). For everything GT5 processes in shaders, Dirt does with physical reactions( which is more impressive to me at the end of the day). That said, Dirt does have some great lighting and shaders. I seriously don't get why GT even does a half-assed rally mode( saying it is anything other than that is just fanboy blinders, IMO). The dust looks fan-friggin'-tastic though...

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Rewind is what keeps me from getting impatient and frustrated with Forza 3. It has even encouraged me to turn off all assists and use manual shift.

Take your bashing like a man.

When you use absurd terms like "average", "outdated" and that the graphics "don't even come close to Dirt 2" you should expect to be mocked.

looks amazing as usual. even if the content of the footage itself isnt all that interesting. as for the whole dirt 2/GT5 debate. there is no doubt DiRT 2 looks great visually, but it isnt a game that strikes me as particularly realistic looking, it's nice, but in an arcady, unrealistic sort of way, GT5 however, goes for photorealism, and in most cases, achieves it. depends what you're into visually i guess.

i'm getting drawn into the hype with GT5 tho, wasnt going to buy it since i'm not a big sim racer fan, but i just can't ignore a title that offers this much quality and quanitity. if i can thrown down money for halo reach, a game withing a franchise i don't like much, then i think i can throw down the cash for GT5 too.

I get your point (i think), but you do realize, this was shot of a TV screen, at an angle, without ingame sound, etc? If you were to decide on buying GT5 from this trailer, I'd say you're an ID**T! (I am sorry, I hope you dont get offended, like the "BASHED UP" dude here :p ..

Also, about the whole "Boundaries Vs Reset" bit, Boundaries give an undue advantage to the person making mistakes. Even with Damage fully on, people usually 'wall-ride', but with reset, you lose time, which is how it should be, but again, it's strictly objectionable. Would you rather want your opponent taking damage or him, reseting and starting scratch-less just to eventually catch you?
