First 10 minutes Xbox 360 PS3

A year ago, Rockstar was bringing us another impressive title with Red Dead Redemption. This year, they are about to do just the same with L.A. Noire, a game that some may have mistaken for another GTA-like, which it is clearly not. Indeed, Team Bondi wanted to deliver a new type of adventure game and though not everyone will appreciate the effort, it can't be denied that they have really done a pretty good job. Here is a chance to see what you can expect from the game with these two videos showing the beginning of the adventure. Today's gameplay footage was captured on 360 but we are hoping to show you some PS3 footage as soon as possible.
Update: As promised, we've added two gameplay videos of the PS3 version. The first one actually shows more or less the same sequences than our two 360 videos, while the second one is dedicated to the first investigation Cole leads from beginning to end.

Just a small precision for our system warriors friends. The PS3 version is captured with a HDMI capture card, while the 360 was with a Component capture system. Component captures are always a bit blurry due to the analog->digital conversion, so there can't be any direct comparisons over that. Still, if you guys own both systems, go with the PS3 version.

There is no way that this is 360 footage, I won't, I shouldn't, I can't believe it. 360 footage of this game has almost been as rare as a sexy nun (a genuine nun) :).

Awaitng download completion.... I still expect to see that triangle button pop up. All jokes aside Bondi (shoot me if I've spelt it wrong) have done a phenomenal port and it's probably the first attempt were I haven't felt like the game suffered visually by developing foremost on the PS3.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say, developing primarily on the PS3 seems to benefit multiplatform games visually, or is that what you meant to say?

Nope I mean that I always feel like MULTI-PLATFORM games would look better if made on the 360 as apose to the PS3. My logic isn't exactly factual its just that with so many multi-platform games looking better on 360 when one is made for PS3 first I can't help but feel like they sacrificed the game looking at its best.

usually 360 to ps3 port = not good for ps3, ps3 to 360 port = the same if not slightly worse on 360.

It is better to develop for ps3 and port to 360, as evidenced here. As to your assumption that a game developed leading on 360 is better than one leading on the ps3.. The game will look its best on the lead platform, it just so happens that used to be more common for 360.

L.A. Noire was originally a PS3 exclusive so that's why the PS3 was the lead platform for this particular game. Also many game developers are making the PS3 lead platform now because it's supposed to be much easier to port a PS3 game to the Xbox 360 than to port an Xbox 360 game to the PS3. Make of that what you will...

no argument there. Anyways LA Noire is looking amazing can't wait to play it, and R* should be commended for always trying something new. They are truly one of the greatest publishers/ developers around.

Can whoever captured this explain what exactly we are seeing in these two videos? Is this stuff highly edited, or is the game just bad at going from one point to the next?

I think it looked cool overall, but some situations are just stupid. Graphically this game is absolutely ALL OVER.

I'm not interested in this particular game at all, but I'm getting rather sick of rockstar making consol-exclusive games lately without porting them to PC. STILL waiting for RDR.

First video isn't edited at all, the second one had some stuff removed to make it show a few more things.
The game is a bit all over the place in the beginning because you have the main story, the WWII story and the psychiatric story all at once, but it makes sense later on.

The NeoGaf L.A.Noire hype train seems to be wrecking now, when more ppls have the game in their hands. After all impressions it's kinda suspicious how this game has 91% Metacritic score...

I feel the same, how it goes from one place to another just feels a bit...like something is missing !

Those vids have missing parts between missions !
Or is the shooter for example guilty or not ?
