First 10 minutes PC Xbox 360 PS3

As promised, here are the first 10 minutes of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. You're getting used to it, more videos will follow so you will eventually get to see the first two chapters of the game. Update 3: The last two parts are now available.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood really is a nice-looking game. Some might bitch about the occasional pop-up or screen tearing - less obvious than in the videos however - but, that aside, it looks pretty impressive. I'll let you see for yourself in the videos but, as for me, I want to say cow-boy hats off to Techland. The game is also very immersive thanks to a great soundtrack and it won't be long until you're completely sucked into it, provided you like that type of atmosphere that is.

In short, if you liked the first game, there's no reason why you shouldn't play this one. The controls are very similar to the first Call of Juarez with a new fury system which is quite fun to use. If you want to know more about our impressions on the game, please read the preview we made a few weeks ago, we haven't changed our mind after playing the retail version.

I had to make some rough editing in the videos sometimes because watching me die isn't particularly fun. The game seems a bit challenging in normal mode but maybe that was just the emotion.

Really, really tempted to bite the bullet and get this.

Also, how the heck does this game not have co-op? Seemed like a sure thing given that it's the tale of two brothers (and that, judging from the video, you get the choice of who you want to play as).

I know cause of the mods... oh wait, cause of the gr8 graphixx......erm. I realise the game will run a bit smoother, but the only reason I'd specifically recommend PC would be because this game isn't worth $60!

The plot was given away in the first game, it's kinda nice in a really hokey way, but now we won't be able to preach at people... and besides that the gameplay is really typical.. I mean it seemed bad like the recently released Damnation to me, and there is no way THAT is getting a sequel, 100% sure because the whole dev team was fired.

Do you know what "first 10 minutes" means? Basically we only want to show the beginning of a game so you can see how it plays. We're not going to show you too much of the game. Some videos of the second chapter will be up by the end of the day but it still involves Yankees and Confederates I'm afraid.

Looks like a really good game but the horrible screen tearing really spoils the Xbox 360 version IMO. It's for that reason that I've opted to buy it for the PC where you can tweak the settings file to enable V-Sync.

What is it with console games and screen tearing of late? Every other game I've seen/played has had it to some degree on the 360... Red Faction Guerilla, Bionic Commando, Resident Evil 5, Ghostbusters, etc., etc. and now Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood looks to the worst of the lot.

Looks fantastic graphically... very lush and natural looking forests and the lighting effects are fenomenal. And the PC version looks even better (have played it myself - looks incredible). :)

The screen tearing is less visible when you play the game at home. The capture makes it worse but it's really ok. :)

I've never understood what screen tearing is, and my eyesight probably isn't sharp enough to notice it. Therefore, my games don't get spoiled by noticing it!

What you see on your screen is like the image is cut in half (or even more pieces). To prevent this, you can Vsync the output. In that case the frame rate is limited to a certain number. The danger with Vsync is that the frame rate can show drops.
I have never seen that in any games I've played, and I don't intend to start looking either.

Well I'm deeply jealous of people who honestly can't see screen tearing... I wish I didn't... but whatever...

Gotta love Gamersyde for their First 10 Minute videos as I've just found out that I won't get the game until Saturday now at the earlier (gee, thanks Amazon!) but these videos at least give me something to watch while I wait. Thanks Gamersyde. :)

I'm not sure that's ironic considering this game is full of tearing in video. That's just.. par for the course.

Part 5 of the video isn't working properly for me. Originally it downloaded as a 78 MB file which is a lot less than the 385 MB size the torrent version is showing. Now I can't download it all.

Well, I'm not going to start looking for screen tearing in every game I play now - what's the point in that? It wouldn't do anything except hamper my experience of the game in question, so I don't think about things like that.

I'm not saying that you'd be better off seeing it, it just.. boggles my mind a little. It's so obvious that I don't understand how one could not see it.

No offense intended.. just.. crazy!

Today I notice even the slightest bit of screentearing, before I knew about it I didn't notice it one bit. My friend also doesn't notice it, I'm so envious.

Like I said, it's probably because I wasn't fully aware of what screen tearing actually was - I used to be such an innocent little gamer! But now I know what it is, so I will ruin every game I ever own in the future looking for screen tearing. So, thanks for that Grift. Thanks a lot. :P
