Finally lockpick puzzles are back, missed them since Splinter Cell.
Day 1 though. Thief was awesome back in the day, i just hope this stays true to its roots and hasn't become all "accessible" for the noobs.

Or maybe they can find a nice middle ground.

I've recently been playing REmake on the gamecube. And i forgot just how intense the game is, thanks in part to the fact you don't have checkpoint, recharging health or a save-anywhere function...or any other BS noobifications.
The less of that shit in this game the better. But even thief 3 was made more accessible compared to the first 2 games. So i expect more here. I don't want it, but i expect it. Recharging health. Checkpoints every 5 seconds. Etc. blergh.
I think my biggest concern is their big push for accessibility. I think we all know what that leads to. After reading a few previews, I'm already a little worried about the "focus" combat mode. Basically, when entering combat, instead of real time is goes slow mo and forces you to match button prompts to target body parts. I know Thief isn't about the hand to hand, but if that crap isn't optional it could very well ruin the game for me. This is one game that absolutely SHOULD NOT have giant flashing buttons prompts on the screen. Make the combat quick, brutal, and unforgiving (that is the point). I don't know why a single game can't remain true to its roots. You would think someone would at least TRY it and see if it sells...
Oh wait.. no.. your basing this of launch titles right...riiiiight.
