looks like any 3rd paty generic fps. But for some reasons, i see the game having more sales and appeal to the fanbase, than other online offers as Killzone 2.

I was in both beta's, the shooting is horrible in my opinion.

The sound is bad, bullets sounds like paintball or something.
The feel of the shooting was bad as well, you cant see any reaction to the weapons when shooting which decreases the satistfaction of shooting in general.
The animations are very old and bad, if anything. The reloading, aiming, throwing grenades, it looks like they didnt know how to animate at all and it looks stiff.

After countless of FPS this generation you would think these guys would do their homework and not just throw in 256 players and call it "awesome", because its not.
But as I said, the whole shooting and animations are what is dissapointing to me in this game, it just looks and feels like last generation of gaming.

This is the stuff they have fixed for the final game since the beta... http://blog.mag.com/blog/2010/01/mag-beta-vs-final... and some comments here http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/01/mag-beta-vs...

"Polished recoil effect for better realism."
"Fixed offset muzzle flash effect."
"Tuned camera to shake more realistically when hit by bullets."
"Added alternate reload animation."

Those four are the ones I want to see what they have done.

256 players is the big selling point and it shows. BFBC2 may not have as many players but it sure does look on another level in terms of quality.

I'm definitely getting this one. I want to try these massive battles. Did enyone try FragFX on PS3 is it worth buying? Can anyone share their knowladge. BFBC2 will be better on PC.

From what little i played, I wasn't impressed in the least. For so many players online, you never feel like you are in a huge epic battle.

Doesn't help that the actual shooting feels so lame.

Some reviews are out 8/10. 3 PMC's you are supposed to form a team and progress. It has death-match and others too. But it seems more like PC style also looks wise it is ok not very good but that was expected TBH

cant see this selling well for sony...i think it's one of those idealistic games, where you fantisize of awesome battles on the scale of a full out war...where everybody on your team works together, and communicates.

The reality will always be players working for their own kills, a lack of communication other than the odd kid playing some music down his mic, lag, and an almost empty game world as the maps are designed to hold 200+ but very few invested in the game.

We shall see..

It's a new IP. It's a PS3 exclusive. It looks average at best. The only thing that could save it is word of mouth and when I read the impressions of the people who played it, it doesn't look like it will have that either.

-> It won't sell. Don't even think they will break even.

i enjoyed the beta a lot, it's not a one man army game like MW2, you just feel like a small cog in a very VERY large machine, but i wont be picking it up day one, too many games these next few months that are priority (heavy rain, GOW3, yakuza 3), will pick it up some time later tho, with the official headset probably, since i'm still using the socom headset...lol.

I think it would have sold better w/out the beta to be honest. Everyone was interested in the game leading up to the beta, and when playing it all I hear for the most part were people talking about how let down they were by the game.

I think the beta turned a lot of people off from the game. Other AAA shooters just have a level of gameplay polish that makes this look very amateurish.

Don't buy the FragFx instead go for the FragNstein m8 it works much better!

Anyway i agree with Sath on this one, shooting and running just feel so generic, it just feels like everything is on rails but that hasn't stopped me buying the bloody thing :)

getting this along with bfbc2, best shooters out there for open world style gameplay, sick the generic run around house/yard feel gameplay of mw2 and its crap everyone for them self attitude with there care packages, only thing mw2 has over these to games is its deep customization

And how well the shooting/aiming/animations are in first person for the weapons.

I just watched live stream for this game and I can say that the reloading animation is much improved. The animation doesnt "skip" frames, its much smoother now and you cana ctually see the entire reloading which is good.
But the aiming is still skipping frames a bit, it doesnt look like the weapon is moving from the hip to infront of you.

But from what I have seen from the released version interms of animations, its much better.

Even with my complaints, I bought it when it came out.

Its very addicting.

One thing that I love about the game is the big open war, reminds me of Frontlines fuel of War, except there is no "war toys" or vehicles to control and less futuristic (which is a shame), other than the transport vehicles.
Anyways, I think its a pretty cool game, but i still think the gunplay is bad compared to MW and Crysis.

The guns damage seems off from faction to faction, atleast the assault rifles.
It feels they didnt put alot of effort into the Raven AR like they did with Valor and SVER.

I tried all factions to the point to try the cool scopes and the AR and Raven lacks that "punch" when shooting while Valor has the best one and then SVER then Raven.

I still went with Raven though considering I love the concept of high-tech sleek look that makes them look like a international "counter terrorist" force.

One thing is that my sister which is around 27 years old was addicted to Warhawk is in love with MAG now, both actually and she hated the beta like I did :)
