Xbox 360 PS3 Wii

As expected Activision is trying to replicate the huge success of the Guitar Hero series with another plastic accessory, and this time it's the aged Tony Hawk series that will maybe get a much needed change with Tony Hawk: Ride.

Dirt Grid Pure Fuel Ride.
Give me a break!! Geez..

Sometimes i cant believe how little imagination publishers (or whoever it is who decides it) have when it comes to game titles. Everything is just a copycat title. :P
I just had to vent about that.

I'm extremely curious how they will make this work. A skateboard game like Guitar Hero?? Me thinks it's going to look quite silly in the livingroom.

So ... many people (including me) love skateboarding games because I can do wild stuff in the game even though my balance is so crappy that I would brake something when I tried standing on a real board.

And now I'm expected to stand on a plastic board to do stuff in the game and like it?

Whoever thought that would be a good idea?!

I lol at this stuff. Some people (Wii buyers mainly) actually think this technology is next gen when in fact it has been in arcades for the past 10 years.

meh, oh well any gimmick that sells is a good gimmick i guess...

*cough* halo. cod. gears. pgr. pong. Tetris. Frogger, mario. Short names help people to recognise and communicate about a game more easily. DUH! Its intentional because it works.

Would you rather they called their game "pro skate boarder tony hawk's sponsored skate boarding game 124: virtual reality plastic skate board control scheme edition" ?

I don't think he was talking about how they're just one word. Pretty much every game you mentioned actually has a NAME, with the possible exception of Pong (debatable). What Baleur was getting at is the dumb new fad of choosing a random word that somehow fits in with the genre and sticking it as the title, none of those are names at all, they should be part of the game description on the back of the box, not stuck on the front in giant letters.

Intrigued in seeing how it actually works, but i think i'd rather hold a regular controller on my hands. Also, how am i supposed to reach the buttons?

(while posting i watched a youtube video of gameplay and the guy playing fell from the board -ingame- a few seconds after he started playing, so my guess is: It is really awkward or really hard, or maybe the guy had never gotten on a skateboard before, either way i still rather have a controller...).
