Xbox 360 PS3

Announced during E3, Mercenaries is for the moment only confirmed on PS3, but a 360 version seems to be possible too. The official site of the game has been updated with some short flash videos showing 3 vehicles, that I've captured and uploaded here for your convenience.

Mmmm it has some nice shadowing, but when the car crashes into the houses, the pieces that fall off seem to dissapear.

Early footage obviously but looking a bit worse than I expected from Pandemic.

I seriously hope they don't give it to Sony, I know Pandemic and Bioware are the same company now but Mass Effect is a new IP. This is a sequel to a game that sold well on the XBox.

dear god, wtf is up with the main character? What kinda freak designed that guy? Just seeing that dude alone was enough to turn me off from this game.

Yeah they really f**ked Mattias up, he was such a badass in the first game, now he looks like a gay biker.

If this game's gonna be a PS3 Exclusive then I'd freak out. It's bugging me already that many cool looking games AND games that have been on the Xbox earlier only have PS3 on them, and Assassins creed is say'd to be on the PS3 and NO indication that we xbox 360 dudes wouldn't get that one..If it's a stupid marketing thing by sony to not tell it's for others then that's fine because then we'd get it aswell but if these great looking games get to be PS3 Exclusive then I'd be VERY angry.

Doesn't really look that amazing, but as a huge Mercs fan, I know it will be fun to play.
Especially since you can play the main game in co-op.
The press release only mentioned PS3, and at E3 it was running on PS3 devkits, so I don't know if this will come to 360 :(

It may just be timed-exclusive... I mean, Sony lost their hold on the GTA series so mabye they are branching out and giving people money for any sort of timed-exclusive they can get... makes sense.

Basically saying, sure we don't have GTA exclusive, but everyother game is now.

i know it's still early, but if that is ps3 i think i'd rather burn 600 dollars, it would be more visually stimulating...those 720p shots look like the xbox version. i'm not hating on the ps3, but it is less than 6 months off now, you'd think the hardware could impress a little more. graphics aside i agree with all, the first one was great, xbox fans deserve the 360 sequel:)

This looks terrible. The lead character model is just horrid. The texturing also isnt all that next gen. In comparison, I would say that Just Cause looks better than this and it takes place on 200,000 acres for you to explore.

Lucas Arts said the exclusivity wasn't about money, but storage space of the media. Maybe they suck at compression and are taking the easy way out, but if they don't bring this title to the 360, I could live without it.

looks worse than the original merc on xbox :| i dont know how one of the worst looking next gen game cant fit on a DVD
Edit: saw the video and wow wtf this game looks like it has more bugs and glitches than BF2 MC on 360

It can't fit on a DVD? I didn't hear that....

Even if it's true though..... I stand by the fact that if Oblivion can fit on one DVD, with a crapload of room to spare, then any game in the next few years can fit on a DVD if the developers actually bother to put some effort into it.

yes they can fit huge bulk of data on one DVD(i hear about 30 GB after extracting on internal memory!!) but it is a side effect for loading time.

it looks ok to me in several Reasons if you Attention to tires in pic#2, those are perfect circle, poly-count is realy good.i think with a little visual effects this looks great.

With development costs being as high as they are these days, developers really can't afford to have console-exclusive titles unless a) they're from first party (your Gran Turismos and Microsoft Game Studios and what have you) or b) you've got the history/relationship with one company (Square-Enix, BioWare, etc.) or c) high-value, timed-exclusivity (ala GTAIV or Assassin's Creed and probably Mercenaries 2.) As has been said, those next-gen games that truly stand out will come from first-party devs and studios.

...It'll be on 360. I hope.
