Finally some new Assassin's Creed 2 footage thanks to this second developer diary finally showing something different from the E3 demo.

I know I have said this already in the main thread but somehow this developer diary and the one that preceeded it FAIL to impress. There is literally nothing new here to be honest.

Underworld factions ? FarCry 2 all over again it seems. I bet what you have to do for each one of those people is repeated like a thousand times.

Also, they are still raving about the dumb crowds, only this time you get a crowd of groups which doesnt necesserily mean it's any better.

They also speak of an economic sytem while their explanation of it is simply: you steal money from everyone and buy Eqp/items from shops (hello, concept is centuries old!!)

There seems to be 6 Developer diaries in total (4 more to see) so I am still going to wait before I make my decision.

Graphics, art and production values are phenomenal as always but right now, I am not seeing anything different apart from a new setting and a different character with a vengence motive, another centuries old concept......

Good luck convincing me this time Ubi. I am not falling for it again.

Well I've already made my decision. Story is interesting, the art is gorgeous and the gameplay is/looks silky smooth. Anything on top of that is just gravy.

The repetition might grind some people's gears but there's enough there to keep me playing through to the end.

I assume so as well. If I loved the first AC, I don't see why I wouldn't love the second. Even if Ezio doesn't strike me as quite as cool as Altair was.

first one was really flawed for me. Looked stunning, and really liked the combat. But the mission structure lacked any sort of imagination..and frankly it was a boring game in the end.

This the graphics whore in me has me looking forward to... hopefully they'll be enough variety in there to keep me playing till the end this time

Loved the first and this seems to be a improved version for those that had complaints, all I could ask for now is an earlier release date, this will be one hell of an experience.

It really is like a mixture of James Bond and Mafia in medieval times. I think it should be interesting. Hell at least better than the first game.

Didn't buy the first one, but definitely going to get this. And even if it happens to be flawed, if it's half as fun as the first one i'm still going to have a great time playing it to the end.

I'm not going to be quite so quick to bite the bait that is AC2 this time. The first one fooled me with its incredible production values, but the core mechanics were disappointingly dull. Unless there's like ten times the variety thrown in and I never feel like I'm repeating the same mission over and over again, I may be tempted to pick it up.

Your asking to reinvent the wheel; someting with frequently poor results. These are basic systems you're talking about. Why not complain about the fact that you are in fact killing people. I mean, what are we, ancient? We've inly had killing for decades, wheres the rest???? Sometimes you need to focus in the small things that make a game great. Bioshock is essentiallly System Shock meets awesome atmo and good solid mechanics. CoD 4 is just a shooter with some rpg-esque persistance thrown in, and half of the damned shooters out since then have taken that lead.

Fix the annoyingly finicky combat timing and I'm ready for a few more of these games. God. And get someone who doesn't sound dead when they play the assassin. Altair was horrid.

I hate it when people over-analyze games like this and the origional AC. Yeah the missions were kinda repetitive, but these games really sell on the story and visuals. It would be like saying "I love reading books, but turning the pages gets boring after a while"

No it's not, that's a ridiculous analogy. Makes no sense whatsoever!

And for the record: this is still a videogame...

You come up with an analogy that is flawed in every which way and then call me unintelligent for "not getting it"?

Lol, that's like me trying to say something in Japanese to a Japanese person, even though I don't speak Japanese, and then blaming him for not understanding me, claiming he doesn't understand Japanese.
