Xbox 360 PS3

Again Codemasters, again one very lonely image, and again the Neon Engine but this time with Operation Flashpoint 2.

Looks very good, but is that ingame??
Well, after having played CoD4 I don't want to have another war shooter.
it will get hard for new games to top CoD4. Hm, but however, gonna keep an eye on this.

I would guess the DiRT pre-release screens are the best measure for these NEON games, it ended up looking similar in-game but definitely nowhere near as clean.

Codemasters needs to stop releasing these.

They look like CG/artwork most of the time, and it's impossible to tell if the final game will look like this or not.

It's getting pretty darn annoying, to be honest.

A few simple gameplay games can't be that much to ask for, can they?

Being a true flashpoint fan i can't accept this game, yes it sure does look pretty, but Bohemia Interactive are the real geniuses behind OFP, this will probally be the Bad Company to the BF2 series.

It came out in 2001 mate.

No it wont mate, this is just the name, the real guys who made this, Bohemia Interactive, wanted out of the contract with Codemasters, so they let them, but they kept the name of the game, Operation Flashpoint, anyway Bohemia Interactive went on to make Armed Assault, a OFP 1.5 if you will, and are currently working on the game that is the true successor to OFP.

This game is made by a completely different team and will most likely be an FPS, not a simulation.

Its like playing NHL 2006, then buying 2007 and all the graphics are cartoony and the controls are all different. Wont be the same thing at all.

Yeah Armed Assault is the game to get if you have a decent PC and plenty of bandwidth, you need it for the patches and mods because much like Flashpoint it shipped as an incomplete product.

Well, that is a trend to observe nowadays... "release the game, even if it's not really finished. No problem, we have internet, and those stupid users can download fixes and patches if they want...." makes me angry...

It's not gonna look like that, even on a maxed out PC (based on the graphics quality, and early Dirt screens).

ArmA turned out much buggier than the original Operation Flashpoint, IMO. Nothing like firing a high power weapon and getting no recoil and no sound effects for it firing.

1. Every game, now even on consoles is patched
2. The game came with everything they said it would
3. The fact that the community has such a strong base to create their own units, planes, helis, cars, tanks and terrain is by far the best, and adds to a great game.

Might be a real-time cutscene shot. One can only hope that it's in-game.

Ultimately, it's Operation Flashpoint! What more can you want?

What is so amazing about this screen shot? All there is is one helicopter model, 3 identical generic soldiers and a bunch of grass from Dirt. Not really that much going on to call it CG...

If it weren't for that trademark Neon Engine high contrast lighting look it would be quite bland and empty...

most likely CG. No console game could ever look like this. hell, this is like Crysis graphics at its highest settings, and even Crysis could barely run on its highest settings.

Like the_insider said, I don't see what's so undoable about that. Sure it has more AA than it will probably have in the final version but it's just some grass, 3 characters models and a chopper. Then a graphical filter over that. We can't even see how far that grass extends. The level-of-detail on that is hidden and it probably fades out after just a few yards. Definitely not "CG" or "Crysis like".

hmmm??? Get real man. First, everybody's always abusing the term CG. CG means COMPUTER GRAPHICS, thus a game is CG. The difference is if it is real time computer graphics (RTCG) or pre-rendered PRCG.
And do you truly believe this is achievable this generation? Cmon, look at the amount of grass, all selfshadowing, ridiculously antialiased, motion blur...
