GSY Video PC

The PC version of Watch_Dogs may have a bunch of performance issues, but it's still quite impressive to see the work Ubisoft Montreal has achieved when creating a believable world with great lighting effects. Here is a short Gamersyde timelapse with all options set on ultra, except for the textures which we chose to leave on high.

The game is truly beautiful on PC, just wish it ran a whole lot smoother. Still, I have been playing the Xbox 360 version and it actually looks very good, which surprised me a lot.

I have watched all Gamersyde videos of WD over and over again, and even the Eurogamer PS4/PS3 comparison, plus other comparison videos on the community page here.

The fact that the X360 version doesn't look miles away from the PS4 version is both a testament to how well developers learned to squeeze every ounce of the PS3/X360 hardware and also of how much the development for the PS3/X360 version affected the overall visual quality of the game on PC, PS4 and XBO.

Even the physics simulation on the X360 version blow me away sometimes, that's something far more complex and better than the physics simulation on GTA V (Though GTA V is about 100 times better than WD, IMHO).

The game is great and looks great in any platform, despite some performance issues now and then, still very worth playing.

Just out of curiosity, what about the physics is far better and more complex in WD than GTA V? I honestly haven't played WD, but everything physics related that I have seen looks rather simplistic. The only thing that looks good is the water physics, but I thought the water simulation was only on next gen consoles.

GTA V has Euphoria for soft body physics which is miles above the simple ragdoll system that Watchdogs uses. Also the vehicle damage looks scripted and predetermined as opposed to GTA V's dynamic chassis deformation (although it was toned down from GTA IV). I'm not trying to be an a-hole, I am just curious what aspect of the physics is really amazing in WD because I am a big of physics in games.

I Love Watch Dogs, maybe a bit more than GTAV so far, but physics are much better in GTAV thanks to Euphoria, as michaelob said, and the damage in cars is also better in GTA. I loved GTAV on PS3 too.

I heard that it runs crap too on PC, AMD cards ? They could not make a good port on current gen consoles. There is no Wii U version and the PS3, 360 version is not better than GTA V from comparison videos. So even after delay the game was not done well technically.

I don't remember all the details of physics simulation on GTA V, but the clothes on Aiden Pearce and NPCs, smoke/fumes, the grass and the wind. Though GTA V's ragdoll animations/physics simulation beat WD's.

Didn't take into account the physics simulation concerning cars, of which GTA V absolutely kills WD, the handling in WD is one of the worst driving handling I've ever experienced in my life.

Don't worry, that's your opinion and you are curious to know why to me WD's physics simulation are better than GTa V's. Honestly, I didn't take car physics simulation into account, which could tip the scale in GTA V's favor for me.

I can make a list after I finish WD, though would need to play GTA V again to make a Pro/Con comparison list, which I just don't have time for right now.

PS. Basing these on the X360 version of both GTA V and WD.

so until the PC/next gen consoles get GTAV i don't see the point in making comparisons to GTAV, why not compare to Saints Row or is too different a game, it's sandbox open world but that's where the similarity end, if Ubisoft are indeed working on a patch don't expect it to be a small quick fix, if the problems are really that bad it's going to be a pretty big patch and a major update, something that will take several weeks rather than days to sort out (with any luck they have let AMD do some tweaking of the code as no doubt excluding AMD from optimizing the game for their GPU's was a major mistake and it show's).
