GSY Preview PC PS4 Xbox One Xbox 360 PS3

Gamersyde was invited to a preview session of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 in Paris some time ago, and we were able to try out the second episode of the game starring Barry Burton and the young and mysterious Natalia. Added to that, we were also given the ooportunity to play the game's Raid mode in two chapters set in a town that looked very much like Raccoon City. The full preview is on the French side but we'll translate the conclusion as soon as possible. Until then, make sure to check the two long gameplay videos we were authorized to show you. They showcase the main campaign and the Raid mode so you can see what the game has to offer. Enjoy!

First impressions

This second episode will give us a chance to discover a new character, Natalia Korda, which is certainly interesting in terms of scenario design, but players controlling her may run into limitations pretty quickly in cooperative mode. Stealth fans, however, should appreciate her gift of clairvoyance which proves rather useful when it comes to detecting the enemy. In order to respect the episodic tradition, the storyline seems rather promising and is revealed in small bits. If you’d like to unsheathe the infected following the main campaign, the raid mode will offer the chance to unleash your primitive instincts, but this won’t be to everyone’s tastes. Even if it fails to revolutionize the genre, the RPG aspects may be enough to drive players to fully engage in the experience while impatiently awaiting the next episode!

Wonky walking and running animations aside, it looks very solid. The character models are very good, especially the little girl.

Looks like a PS3 game to me, wich is ok If we talk of PS3 version. But not for next gen/PC. And... graphics aside, I wonder If story is interesting enough. Let´s hope it.

It doesn't look that great to be honest. It's less atmospheric than the first Revelations and Barry doesn't look or sound like he does in the RE1 remake. There's also that little girl that smashes zombies and heavy duty padlocks with a single hit with a brick... She's the REAL monster here.

Enjoyed the first Revelations (apart from final boss battle) and this gameplay looks even better. Will pick this up too. Capcom probably copied the man with a little girl companion idea from Last of Us which made a truckload of money. Just wonder if this girl gets to beat the crap out of Zombies too as well as Barry or she just hides in a box when trouble comes. Game Studios are beginning to introduce more kids now in mature, violent games. Not a good thing unless done carefully and with tact.

Barry's campaign looks like very low budget Last of Us haha. This series lost its identity long time ago. Playing now REmake and looking at this just make me sad. :(
