Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is getting its first single player DLC this week and we had a chance to play three different versions of it (Xbox One, PS4 and X360). Freedom Cry is pretty ambitious in terms of topic, as it focuses on the conditions of slaves in the 18th century. You play as Adéwalé, Kenway's Quartermaster, as he discovers the shores of the French colonies of the Caribbeans. In terms of gameplay however, nothing new as this new content mainly features what AC4 already proposed, a few things having being adapted to the new context with the obligation to free the slaves who are imprisoned or ill-treated by their master. That being said, we enjoyed the new locations and the music by Olivier Derivière (who even went as far as to use real slave chants sung by a choir of Haitians). Other than that, it has the same flaws and strengths as the main game, which will either please or disappoint depending. Choose your side!
