Xbox 360

Dead or Alive 4 finally stopped doing its shy girl and led Blimblim shoot it under the skirt. The video is huge, about 400 Mo, and so it will be available only on Bittorent. Anyway, with the servers working again, it should be quite fast now.
MAJ : 640x360 version available, thanks to Wolferyne. This one will also be available soon as a direct download.

i'm fluctuating between 20-50 KB/s. certainly better than nothing :) i'm not too enthused about seeing the video though to be honest. i'm just not impressed with DOA4 so far. You have to admit, it is absolutely nothing like the showing of DOA3 at the premiere of the Xbox. It is still impressive indeed for current generation, and i was really hoping DOA4 would have the same impact. As it stands, it's very mediochre in the visual department, in my opinion.

yeah which wasnt really anything. DOA on the DC almost looks this good! so far everything ive seen looks like they could have done better. i mean the last generation almost looked this good. i hope they got rid of the glitchy hair movement from TGS and E3. this title is a MUST MISS :)

Virtua Fighter 5 doesent look better.
DOA 4 has the most beautyful Backgrounds ever seen in a game, everything else is perfectly well put togeter, too. Its just as smooth and nice as a game gets.
Of course, the Characters look still Comic-Like so its not a big step forward from the xbox-doa games. However, DOA 4 doesent look realistic or lifelike. If you expected that, its just the wrong way of seeing the game. DOA 4 just looks beautyful, not realistic.
It was never intended of being photo realistic.

Looks good, I expected better. Not a big fan of DOA, but a big fan of Ninja Gaiden. Hopefully NG2 is on the 360 and they take a different graphic approach, say more photorealistic instead of comic-like.

blah, everythings trying to be photorealistic these days.
The fact that they can't reach photorealism is just gonna make you dissapointed, no matter what game or what console/computer you have.

I like individual style.

btw, Ninja Gaiden is almost a guaranteed 360 exclusive, and is planned as Team Ninja's next game, I believe.

[edit]
I was wrong, actually Itagaki stated they will work on Extreme Volleyball 2 next... Ninja Gaiden after that.

Actually after DOA4 Team Ninja will again split into 2 teams, the main team will work on NG2, and the rest will work on DOAX2. And there is a new 3rd team working on project progressive.

It just doesen't impress me that much :| When they showed the ninja hideout stage, I really couldn't see much difference from DOA3. But the game play looks good, and maybe it will look better when you see it with your own eyes.

I think you guys should play DOA3 and DOAU more, and then compare it to these videos. DOA4 looks a lot better. The only thing that looks similar in DOA4 are the skin textures, which doesn't seem to be based on realism.

The game does look better, it has better hair and cloth simulation and you can see the much better detail on the clothing and stages. I think most people just look at the characters themselves and notice they haven't changed, well of course they haven't, they are still using the style they have been using since DOA2. No matter how many polygons they put into the characters, be it ten thousand or a million, they will still look the same unless they completely redesign the characters with a more realistic boring super normalmapped look like the rest of the games coming out these days.

the lack of photorealism is not the consoles fault, it is the artists who are working on all games. they dont know how to make real skin textures yet, just plastic. im sure they will soon enough.

haloking, the art style they're going for here is anime, not realism. It has nothing to do with incompetence, even though you and maybe a bunch of others find it unfortunate that they AREN'T striving for photo realism.

In fact, you'll have a hard time finding any decent beat em up that tries to look and be realistic.

i guess there are real skin texutres.. but its a certain technique which makes the skin look real... and that technique was presented by the ps3 rsx video on e3
its about a light source kind of shimmering through our skin, and as long as this doesnt happen -> no real skin ^^
oh, and am i the only one who got no sound in the doa 4 movie?

ok, i'm looking at my arm placed in front of a light bulb, but I don't see any light coming through it.
What am I doing wrong?
Am I not skinned like you humans?

In fact I can hardly see my arm... the light is blinding my site to everything around it.
