In mid-August they said this game was DONE, that all it needed was polish. May 2010 would be 9 months after they made that announcement.

CAN NOT WAIT! apparently they are doing a whole week of Alan Stuff, we should expect more media this week YAY!

incredibly short, but incredibly impressive looking day/night cycle. i think this and SC conviction are going to be the graphical benchmarks for the 360 this year. they both look like an exclusive game SHOULD look.

Absolutely agreed. They are on another level and finally show that the 360 can still compete with the PS3 in terms of visuals.

Seriously, other than Uncharted 2, everything is pretty much leveled on PS3 and the 360.

Well, the PS3's exclusives have seen some signifant improvement in terms of graphics in the last year and a half. The 360, well...not. Now, FINALLY, the 360 is showing some pretty significant gaphical leaps in it's exclusives with Alan Wake and SC: Conviction.

So for me it now feels like the 360 is up there with the PS3 again...

I love the concept of the game on how the enmies gets killed and such, very interested.

I wonder if the game will come out on PC as originally planned, if not, if i buy a 360, I might pick it up.

I think Gears 2 is up there with anything on PS3. Not to mention the fact that multiplatform games like Resident Evil 5--which look great--look pretty much the same AND better than lots of exclusives on both consoles. The PS3 has seen some strong graphical showcases in the last year or so, that's all (Killzone, Uncharted, uh....yeah pretty much).

Well, the difference isn't quite as signicant as Sony loyalists make it out to be. But, I did see a trend developing where the PS3 exclusives were improving by each release, where the 360's graphical prowess have been pretty stagnant since Gears2.

Now I finally see some progression with the 360 exclusives again. And that was my main "concern".

A lot of it also has to do with vastly different design decisions on a lot of 360 and PS3 exclusives. Look at what Bungie is apparently doing with Reach. Let's say they greatly lower that scale, cut down on enemies and vehicles, adjust the nutso skybox to be more normal and focus on something more tight and controlled like Uncharted 2. I'm not saying specifically Uncharted 2, but if they focus their design decisions to some of the same criteria put in place in Uncharted 2, then people may come to the conclusion that such a Bungie title would be pretty strong visually as well.

The PS3 has some unbelievable looking games, that's for certain, but a lot of the perceived differences are more the result of simply different design intentions. The 360 has amazing looking titles as well. And like Lebato said, RE5 looks great and then there is Lost Planet 2 which I believe does some pretty insane looking things.

It could also be the case where not many devs seem to be creating very specific exclusive engines for the 360 and for some people, some of the best visuals they've seen on the 360 as far as they're concerned, just so happens to be a number of Unreal 3 titles. Now, if the Unreal 3 engine can push the 360 the way that it does, there's simply no way that another kind of engine just as capable, but one that differentiates itself from UE3 in key ways along with a different art style, can't also produce a very visually impressive 360 title.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter. When you own both, you can have the best of both worlds :)

Am i the only one who has given up on this title, and i swear MS are holding it back to conflict with heavy rain.

I've kinda given up on it, though I've held on to the thought that if it does come out, without a PC version, I'll probably either die or buy a console

kinda. visually i'm completely sold, but gameplay wise it looks a bit...well, alone in the dark-ish. which kinda puts me off. but we'll see. i was hoping for a serious, mature thriller, but the more i see the more it looks like a paranormal horror. i dont want to be fighting the boogie man, i want it to be grounded. but it might be good despite that fact.

I think it's safe to say that we know close to nothing about the plot. It could be an incredibly clever or an incredibly dull one. Fact is, you don't know, but you're still talking about the game as if you have played it through several times.

Well, it's the Max Payne devs, that's reason enough to be excited about how well handled the story and writing may be.

I've seen nothing on this game that warrants excitement, but I like the looks, and the company behind it.

I can see the similarities. Both are third person. Both are action orientated and both carry a deep, rich story to boot. Although they are both slow-paced games, (compared to FPS`s etc), Alan Wake looks to be faster going than Heavy Rain does, but like ManThatYouFear suggested, you can bet your bottom dollar that they`ll both come out to coincide with eachother and as far as I`m concerned, it kinda makes perfect sense really. I agree with Manny, but can`t wait for both of them to land.

In a way, then most annoying ting, is the fact that Remedy showed this game off waaaay too early. When it was first shown, it looked amazing, and although it still does hold its ground, I can`t help feeling as though this game needed to come out well over 12-18 months ago to give me the true `wow factor` that I initially experienced all those years ago.

There's one major thing that I like about this game. It doesn't give off the same impression of being rushed as was clearly the case with a number of other titles.
